How do you get 13,333 score?

I’m sort of new to JD but I have a few songs where I got every move perfect and all Yeahs. But my scores are usually around 13,250 or 13,280. How do people get 13,333? I play on switch so I use a controller

I've hit all perfects on several dances over the years, but most of the time my score is in the high 13,200's and the low 13,300's. Only rarely do I hit a perfect 13,333 despite hitting all perfects.

First of all, when you hit the gold move, it just says YEAH. It doesn't say whether it was good, super, or perfect. I suspect that a YEAH may give you a variable score depending on how well you hit the gold move.

Second of all, it might be the case that all Perfects aren't created equal, or that there are a few subtle moves that affect the points subtly but which don't display an actual score.

In JD 2017 especially, there could be significant scoring differentials. I hit all perfects (and the gold move) in Bang, yet hit a score in the high 12,900's, which is the only time I've had a perfect dance under 13,000. When I was doing video challenges in 2017, sometimes I would have all perfects going on a song, yet when I looked at the bars on the left, I was actually noticeably behind my opponent, even on a solo dance, and even before any gold moves had come. I suspect that in 2017, some perfects better than other perfects, or that some subtle moves were impacting hidden scores. In JD 2018 and 2019, when I hit all perfects, my score is at least in the high 13,200's, so it seems like the scoring is more transparent now.

Another possibility is that the game "tracks" your performance. In this scenario, a perfectly tracked game would give you 13,333. Scores of super, good, and ok would correspond to "penalties." If you go through the whole dance without any "penalties," your score would equal your tracked score, which could potentially be less than 13,333 depending on how well your moves tracked. If you have any penalties, they would subtract points from your tracked score.

Either way, I wish that (A) they would include a score tally at the end of every dance like they do on the world dance floor so I could always see how my scores totaled up and (B) that they would tell you how well you hit the gold move (perfect, super, good) instead of just saying YEAH. (In JD 2015, they used to give messages like Godlike instead of just always Yeah, though I'm not sure if the messages were just random.)

The more you dance (and continue to dance well), the higher your scores tend to get. if you're relatively new and already hitting 13,200's, you'll probably see 13,300's in your future.

    Happy dancing. :-)
