so the news just came out that rainbow six siege (another ubisoft Tom Clancy game) is receiving a version of the game for the Chinese market that will be censored
however the global version of the game will also be censored this includes blood, slot machines, and skulls
I don't think I have to explain the significance of skulls in ghost recon
I'm also not talking about wildlands I'm talking the franchise in a whole If you remove skulls from ghost recon I'm done
you'll never get another dime or dollar, I'll never play your games again and I'll never support ubisoft again
this isn't what Tom Clancy would have wanted and this Isn't what I want
I cant speak for anyone but myself but from what I've seen there are many Tom Clancy fans who don't want there products censored and I'm one of them
(I mean no disrespect to anyone, the staff of ubisoft or there members or anyone affiliated with the Tom Clancy brand)
The only reason why Rainbow Six Siege goes to so many changes, like "operator balance" and stuff like that is because of the pro league.
"Pro players" are Ubisoft targets when it comes to selling and promoting their game therefore now Ubisoft wants to target China for just that "pro league" events.
Thanfully, Ghost Recon isn't on the pro league so changes are almost unnoticable when it comes to multiplayer balance and by so there is no reason to censor anything.
here's a Link about what i'm talking aboutOriginally Posted by LoneSpymaster Go to original post

ubisoft is letting china influence there game for players outside of china
the name ghost recon would not be allowed because apparently china hates ghosts https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/ne...e-china-910563
and it may start if cosmetic (as in no more skull inspired cosmetics) but it's a slippery slope
whats next no more drills in ubisoft tittles cause apparently they banned those too (can't find source will edit once I do)
all I'm saying is they might change titles for the future to be more china friendly
as you've said there doing it over esports why not just get the next ghost recon ready for the Chinese market in case it becomes a big esports success

Well, not only that Ami, but the entire concept of censoring representations of real-life traumatic scenarios in media and entertainment is wholly ignorant, irrespective of whatever tribe employs it. If you repetitively remove consequences from actions, the only thing you succeed in accomplishing is conditioned psychopathy. Whether that is intentional or not is another matter entirely.
The same can be said of vulgarity. Non-gratuitous vulgarity is an intrinsic component to any language. It denotes extremes under which the use of common verbiage would be an understatement.
Mantic is absolutely correct. In both his fiction and non-fiction writings, Tom Clancy had the utmost respect for the military and the role it plays. If an adult member of any civilization is unprepared to deal with the realities of military actions, then they are undeserving of the rights and freedoms afforded by those who fought and died for them.
Well, we're coming up on nearly a thousand years of Perfidious Albion as a more or less continuous state.Originally Posted by KingSpawn1979 Go to original post
They aren't powerful enough to make the rest of the world miserable the way they used to. Now they just Brexit at us.

skulls, anything related to gambling, depiction of knives etcOriginally Posted by TreFacTor Go to original post
also I'm pretty sure the only thing they removed was the line female nomad said during the beta (can't say what is was it in the forum)
other than that I believe they just tweaked the frequency of all conversations all though I could be wrong on that
