Does anyone know if an account has been banned will they still show in the server list if I search by gamertag to add as a friend? In other words, if I click on Add Friends and search for a legit name, and their account had just been banned, will they still show in the search?
I am uncertain if this is a DB that refreshes only occasionally or if it updates in real time.
Second Q: WTF? I just got this email from Ubi support:
I have escalated your account to the team responsible for the ban issued on your account. They will review the evidence used to determine your ban and make a final decision. If they choose to revert your sanction, you will regain access to the server. Support will not have any further information after the appeal has been submitted. Thank you for your patience and understanding during this time.
I assume the player whom I submitted a ticket against for hacking last week did the same as attempted retribution.I cannot imagine what kind (of any) evidence was submitted, but assuming Ubi does due diligence I am not the least bit concerned.
Still, kind of funny.
I can tell you that they don't ban.Originally Posted by thepingguy Go to original post

Ive reported enough "suspected" behaviour players to have been banned for that..... if they were going to do it.
This is one of the issues (imo) with the current system they employ. Its only serves to provide perception for the most part. Now if they were transparent.... (to a degree) say like VAC maybe players would be alittle more forgiving. I.e. Bans should show on ppl account/character ingame so that we know who these gamers are and what they were banned for and how long. Giving cheaters anonymity after they have gone through any process, appeal and what have you is bollocks.
The only thing I would perhaps consider is a system that redacts visible ban tags after a certain period....i.e. rule breakers = a month, exploiters = 3 months. hackers = 1 year. After which any account that is banned for the hacking or exploiting 3x is perma-banned.
Any person found guilty of cheating and reporting the player who reported them should get perma banned. No nonsense!Originally Posted by Sock_Monkey Go to original post
I thought reporting was anonymous, or at least that is what we were told....Originally Posted by Sock_Monkey Go to original post
It might be. It’s entirely possible he guessed it was me since he spent quite a bit of time spewing toxic rants at me in the chat.Originally Posted by Mr__Gru Go to original post
How do you know its that person? Silly question I know.Originally Posted by Sock_Monkey Go to original post
I don’t. In fact I have no idea, but it’s pretty much impossible for it to be anyone else. Obviously I don’t cheat, and my lousy stats bare that out. This was the first toxic cheater I’ve seen months, so it’s hard to imagine anyone else it could be.Originally Posted by agentCoats Go to original post
We do not give out player information under any circumstance. The cheater reporting process is double-blind, meaning the suspected cheater isn't notified as to who reported them and the reporting party doesn't know the outcome of the investigation. I understand dealing with cheaters is incredibly frustrating for players, but I can assure you we do consistently ban people when the investigation reveals they are not playing by the rules.
You can find the process of reporting a cheater here.
