Ubisoft Ubisoft Ubisoft.... Have you tested your weekly quest solo?
Have you really looked at the rewards and decided "oh this is worth it for the players"?
Difficulty, minimal and barely impacting reward, minimal xp reward, lowered rewards if you play with 2 players, there is zero point to play it.
It was marketed as a substitute for online and a extra way to earn gear and xp, but in reality it's not worth it at all.
When it comes to rewards, it should guarantee items that you don't already have unlocked, a fair quantity of rewards at the end, and double maybe even triple the amount of current xp it gives, if you're going to make the difficulty as it is.
Or, still make the current rewards guarante a cosmetic or piece of gear you don't already have, program the bots to react like humans, like you said yourself instant lights and zones aren't supposed to be reactable, so why is a bot parrying or deflecting all of them? And please TEST and make sure that players can get through it solo and duo, with difficulty, but not a ridiculous handicap.
I'm speaking for the entirety of arcade mode, not just the weekly quest.
There should also be matchmaking for it.
(My experience with the weekly quest as berzerker)
First stage- fairly easy, winnable by ledging or fighting the shaman outright
Second stage- difficult, doable, with the provided damage buff
Third stage- two shamans that heal because their passive, a high level kensei who's heavies knock down, and minions that you can't go torwards because they hit for 15 or so each. I can run through the right group of minions and make it to the ledge window only taking 2-3 hits, then have to struggle ledging and fighting them, tried it probably 30 times. Staying where you spawn fighting them outright, didn't work, it's shamans that rush you first, their cc and dmg hurts regardless of my increased revenge, then kensei comes, knocks me down and hits me for 60, which is a reoccurring theme. My biggest issue with this isn't the difficulty of the bots sad enough, it's the damage minions do that make it nearly impossible to get to a proper ledge point, and then the difficulty of the bots are hard enough. I'd say I've tried every possible strategy for this stage, I'm above requirement, using one of the better hero's, my experience was unfun, frustrating, and since it's too difficult to pass solo unrewarding like normal. Which sparked my comment on a forum.
Unless rewards are getting buffed, or unless it's made into a viable option for gear and xp, I won't be touching it, and wish I hadn't spent money to have it unlocked.
Why on earth is it possible to not get the effect on completion? I seriously don't understand the reason behind making it a random chance. The mode is not easy by any stretch of the word, it has an unreasonably high gear score requirement, and it's only available for less than a week. What if I want to get the effect on a specific hero, for a specific slot, and that hero can't even enter the weekly quest without a nerf? How many times do you have to complete it with a different hero to achieve that? Because according to my math, it's anywhere between 5 and infinite.
Usually when I question why something works like it does in this game I refer to two main reasons:
1) The devs are clueless, which usually pertains to game balance
2) They can somehow stimulate more steel pack purchases, something that I'm sure is always taken into account
But here it's the opposite - instead of making it easier and more appealing to play their new mode and reap the rewards, incentivizing more Marching Fire purchases, they decide to give us a chance of a unique reward, hidden behind tons of BS and otherwise unrewarding experience.
No clue what they were thinking with this one.
I only have two chars with the gear score necessary to do the weekly challenge: WL and Valk...fml. so I took my WL since god knows valk only needs a couple hits and she's dead. first two stages were fine, but the third stage had two healing shamans and a heavy knockdown kensei. so I thought Id fullblock til I got revenge then I'd take out a shaman, rinse repeat. oh no. stupid warlord, shamans just spam their vamp bite, and three bites later you're dead. I couldn't even ledge them since the ledgeable spots were kindly boarded up.
after and hour of playing only that stage, I got to the point where it was just me and the kensei, still not understanding how I managed to kill the shamans. kensei pops revenge and throws me into the minions. game over. So glad my warlord was up to the task with his only buff of revenge build faster (cause spammy *** shamans don't build revenge very fast).
let me explain something ubi. YOU said that this mode was supposed to be a challenge. making any sort of win a fluke isn't a challenge, its STUPID much like the devs who made this weekly challenge. and for the love of god make the tier difficulty about skill not freaking gear (basing damage off of gear is the most dumb***** idea I have seen, especially after removing gear stats). making it about gear means that other characters we don't have time to play up to the appropriate gear score can't even try. the point of arcade should be about tactics, not whether or not you can parry every single light that comes your way.
I will comment on every post like this I see. Ubi needs to immediately FIX arcade. We want a challenge or something even riddle like fun, but not an impossible, enclosed, psychic computer gang attack. And No! Just cause they use the recognition emote does not make it ok!

Phase 3 with Raider is impossible....impossible. I tried 25+ times. not even close. 2 times i managed to somehow kill both shame (lucky blocks)....but then the kensei 2 shots me. cant even go anywhere near minions. forget about ledging.
It is straight up ridiculous. Its not like other hardcore games..there is no boss “pattern” to memorize....its not bloodborne, or dark souls, or a bloody everquest mmo boss fight....its a action/fighting game. And arcade was supposed to be an alternative.
Make it hard/challenging yes..but cmon.

There is no constructive way to say this **** is utter garbage. Throw it away and start the **** over. I have no game development experience and I could tailor **** better then this.
For the record I have solo'd the weekly arcade mode with Nobushi. It was painful, NOT FUN AT ALL.
When I invite friends to join me for it they get frustrated and hate it as well. Do the mobs do more damage with 2 players? If so rethink your stupid decisions. perhaps seek guidance from the player base because you know they ****ing play the game.
Ok so i resumed phase 3 this am before kids woke-up....
51 total attempts - big no. so i quit.
Reality set in i will never get the effect.
What did i pay $40 for (live in canada). I dont play Wu-lin...and apparently arcade is too hard for me....
I would have honestly rather have dropped $40 on the bloody effect itself....
