Random explosions causing mission to fail

So i'm trying to complete the third part of the current challenge in the game, wich you have to complete "The Refinery Chief" mission in Libertad without being seen.

And it's not easy since the enemies will "spot" you and cause the mission to fail even if they notice anything wrong in less than half a second before you kill them.

So as I tried to complete this challenge I have had a few failures being very ahead in the mission, where some f**** random explosion somewhere in the map would cause the enemy to start hunting me, even if the explosion had nothing to do with me and happened VERY far away.

Has anyone else been facing this problem too? Is there a way around it? By the way, Ubisoft, please, fix this bug, it's the most annoying way to fail a mission I have ever seen.

    Cheers from Brazil :]

Yeah I've had this as well at times. Turn up to a mission, boom, enemies on alert. I think it's usually when the enemies can't find an obvious source, such as the rebels that may have caused the explosion. So by default the system makes them hunt you, even if you're no way near the exposion.

This cropped up in another thread. It’s happened a lot. There’s either a random explosion or SB and Unidad decide to start killing each other. Both somehow count as being ‘Visually Detected’.

Same here, haven't counted my tries.
Finally got it but it was more than annoying....

I doubt this will be fixed for this one week challenge, as it does not relly harm when playing as a usual campaign mission.

    Cheers

Yes. The text is very misleading as it says "Visually Detected" as opposed to raising threat level which is the actual cause of mission failure.

On the flip side, here is the work around. Destroy the derricks however you want, even go in guns blazing. Once they are destroyed, return to Libertad Alpha, this will give you progress 1/2. Stealthily make your way to the refinery chief, and here is the important part, complete the mission without being seen. Literally as long you are not detected from Libertad Alpha until you do this final step, you will get the challenge reward.

Discovered this when I just ran the mission for the tier points out of frustration, and decided to give this a shot.

For anyone else encountering this, get just close enough to get credit for locating the derrick retreat to high ground and snipe.
275-300m seemed to do the trick.

Edit: I also did it by sync shooting all the enemies (10 I believe) from 250m out marking enemies using the binoculars then approaching the objective.

Sorry to hear about these random explosions, it's certainly annoying when you're trying to be stealthy.

I'll make a note to pass it on to see if we can look into this!

So I have lost a few more hours of my life trying to complete this challenge and it turns out it's impossible. I'm trying to do it as fast as I can so I don't get any random form of failing the mission, but the game just won't cooperate. EVERY time I reach to the second zone of refineries, either an explosion occurs, or a car full of rebels decides to stop by and start fighting against SB and guess what? Mission failed because the game understands faction conflict as you have been spoted by the enemy, you know how it is. This is a major bug that happens all the time and makes me wonder if the developers have played their game at least once. I'm just being mean by now lol but it's the truth.

By the way, Ubi-Lucipus, thanks for your feedback!

As mentioned above, if you are detected and fail, keep going and when you’re done clearing the derricks (detected or not - it doesn’t matter), return to Libertad Alpha (but don’t fast travel) before going to see the refinery chief. There’s some bug with the challenge where it will reset your detection to zero every time you visit Libertad Alpha. As long as you reset your detection before concluding the mission by talking to the chief, you’ll be fine.
