90% Sure IIRC they stated on one of the dev streams they were looking into headlight visibilty, but since changing this is basically changing how light reflects and interacts with every surface in the game, it would be further down the line/later in the year. As it will take time to do properly. Cant remember exact wording but it was something like that.
Dont get me wrong, even as a huge fan of the game I really dislike the lack of communication and updates on whats happening. They started off great doing streams every 2 weeks, and fixing the initial follower exploits basically straight away.
There was a bit of a silence before gator rush but they fixed some big issues when it arrived.
But since then theyve been pretty much speechless apart from the last livestream before the car drop. Where they said a few things.
I think they should do them at least every 1-2 weeks. And also have at least 2 updates inbetween each the major ones for bug fixes and changes.
One of them, pretty sure its the one where they spoke about the headlights, had Fergus (lead developer) on and he directly addressed the top9cs and said why or why not they were changing things and gave updates. Although not everyone was happy with some things he said, eg: People not being happy about his stance on not inclduing the navline (personally i dont care about that). It was great to havr him on there to properly awnser things, as opposed to community guys who are just told what to say (no offense to those guys).
I never really noticed the headlight issue before and overall i dont think its a huge thing, but one of the new hypercar races they added with gator rish ive done at night a few times and i did notice it was hard to see.
Basically my current stance on it is, i agree theres an issue there, but theres other bigger issues and things id like them to work on first. Ideally we just want it all fixed but i think we both know that wont happen, at least soon anyway.
This is not a defense of Ivory Tower, because I think this behavior is inexcusable. However, I have been around official forums for a long time for games I have played, and I can tell you that, while it sucks, all this lack of communication from the dev team to the community is the norm. We always hear crap, on every developer's official forum, about how suggestions are passed up, how the devs are reading out criticisms, how they are trying their best, and on and on. Maybe they really are. But in the end, whatever deliberations developers go through in this regard, are almost NEVER shared with their own community. I have never understood this. I think its reprehensible behavior fueled by excuses about how they are afraid that devs or dev reps posting would somehow inflame people even more. Hell, maybe the guys and gals at Ivory actually believe that manure like every other dev team on the planet.Originally Posted by Yuggle1 Go to original post
This is NOT trying to attack Ivory Tower or Ubi, only to say that this is how it almost ALWAYS is. If we are going to take Ivory devs to task for this, I honestly believe that we have to say the same about pretty much most development companies.

Whether its dev to community or more internal, its pretty shambolic.
They’re trying with the whole live stream thing which is great and i think other companies should do something similar bit it has become more of a show and tell rather than a reach out to the community. Its a common theme between everything they’re doing, ambitious and some what great ideas but executed badly somehow. I dont claim to have the answers, but having wanted this game to be what TDU3 never was i cant help but feel disappointed
I get your feelings OP..i feel abandoned by Ubisoft
they still didn't fix that some of the video settings not saving since release..
No custom USB device support yet (the crew had it so i could use my modded shifter to shift to 7th gear..now i can't..aka i would need to buy a new expensive shifter to get 7th gear? no im not using paddles to shift it sucks and totally not the same feeling)
most annoying thing for me,you can't continue where you left off like in the crew..instead its always back home (without fast travel anywhere option to go where you was is ...lame)
oh right nvm im wasting my time typing all this..all Ubisoft will say is:
"thank you for your suggestion!"
then nothing will happen
