Little known fact: telling people the same thing over and over and over and over over and over and over and over over and over and over and over over and over and over and over over and over and over and over over and over and over and over over and over and over and over over and over and over and over over and over and over and over over and over and over and over over and over and over and over over and over and over and over over and over and over and over over and over and over and over over and over and over and over over and over and over and over over and over and over and over over and over and over and over over and over and over and over over and over and over and over over and over and over and over over and over and over and over over and over and over and over over and over and over and over over and over and over and over over and over and over and over over and over and over and over over and over and over and over over and over and over and over over and over and over and over over and over and over and over over and over and over and over over and over and over and over over and over and over and over over and over and over and over over and over and over and over over and over and over and over over and over and over and over over and over and over and over over and over and over and over over and over and over and over over and over and over and over over and over and over and over over and over and over and over over and over and over and over again.... is annoying.
Really annoying.
So when the game keeps randomly informing me that I can sell animal skins for money or to find fishing spots to win the state championship (while I'm trying to rescue Falls End) it's not only annoying but incredibly inappropriate. Seriously, don't you test your games before you release them? Did no one notice this crap?
TLDR; The message spam should be attached to tutorial messages and should go away when I turn them off. They should not be in miscellaneous messages... which includes the mission completed messages that totally screw up my controls while informing me that I just did what I did.
/facepalm
You know I just made a decision. The last few ubisoft games that I've played have all had one thing in common: they all become more annoying than enjoyable after a few hours. I think this is going to affect my purchasing decisions in the future... that and having to look at Uplay informing me EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. that I launch the game that playing without the in-game overlay is "not recommended".
You folks seriously need to sort your priorities out.
Functional business model: create a good product, maintain good customer relations (including technical support that is actual technical support), and keep people coming back to buy more of your stuff. Hard right?
Well, apparently it must be.
I see your point, but did you know, that hunting is a good opportunity to make money, if you need some cash?
Seriously, it can get very annoying. Ever tried so catch the Largemouth Bass (Hard)? You got Clutch Nixon Music from the left, a fisherman talking like a broken radio from the right and if you are very lucky, Faith will show up and start her blabber on top. Again and again ...
Yep. Somebody needs to explain the concept of sensory overload to the devs or, more likely, their corporate overlords. Hammering as much madness into every square inch of the map so that you can't even pull over a prison van and have a conversation with the people you just rescued on a "lonely country road" without ending up in a fire fight with twenty guys who arrive on scene with a response time that would make any law enforcement agency in the world sick with envy.
It's a shame, too. The last two Far Cry games were gorgeous open-worlds... that were completely ruined by this idea that every bleeding second spent in-game should be accompanied by the sound of explosions, gunfire and screaming.
Often... mine.
You wouldn't have the clutch Nixon music if you actually did the mission. Shoot the fisherman.Originally Posted by rabe277 Go to original post
problem solved.
The average gamer is in his or her 30's and that demographic will only increase as time goes on.
It does seem ludicrous the amount of hand-holding games have these days especially in the FPS genre which is age rated due to the violence.
I don't see any reason why the driving a car controls have to appear on screen EVERY SINGLE TIME. I mean the first few times I get into a car is ok, but seriously, every time? SO stupid.
Yep, agree. How hard is it to program a simple 'If (ingame warning/help/etc) has been shown twice then don't show it again'Originally Posted by Sabotur Go to original post
