Hi there, i am an open deranker, though i've never posted on here in terms of this subject i'd love to answer any questions, based on whats been said so far let me say a few things starting from the top.

isnt the object to eventually go back up? So isnt this basically chopping off your nose to spite your face?
not really, tbh my only concern is completing weekend events and getting my pvp packs, i have fun doing both.

Ya, but still, the object of the game to me is to climb the leaderboard, and de ranking is a pretty backwards way to do it. Still, I appreciate you explaining it to me and helping me understand the "logic" behind it.
Thats the object for you, but you have to remember we're all under a numerous amount of circumstances here, whether it be school, work, relationships, or the plethora of other things going on, we don't all have the same objectives, some just wanna have fun an kick *** for a few minutes.\

because they are selfish, simple fact is its easier for them to finish events and get rewards by basically farming lower ranks, I had 7900 ELO, and now lose 200 to a level 19 NK with full level 4 epics and level 6 rares... its BS, they don't care who they screw over in thier quest for easy loot
By no means am i selfish, i simply do what i need to do to obtain my maximum productivity. i'm NK lvl 17, (just got my first lvl 4 epic) and i've been in legendary matches when i get destroyed by NK 13 with a slew of lvl 4 epics, should i call him selfish because he simply buys his cards and i'm not willing?

People need to not look at it as you aren't good you need to get better and think of it as what am i getting versus how much time i have to put in, if i can get my PVP pack while on break doing it this way, i certainly will, why should i spend 45 mins losing a bunch of games as high rank just to prove myself? i'll lose probably 2 packs per day, how many cards is that?
People who pay for packs there's nothing wrong with so that they get that extra edge (big edge) but the second i do something to give me an edge that's unforgivable?
If you want to stop this then do something that i can't say i've seen someone suggest... STOP REWARDING ME! at a certain point you have to say ok this guy shouldn't be in 35-50.
i take advantage of the system as much as i can, and i feel no guilt cause this is a P2W game, and i'm not willing to pay mass amounts, i did buy the T&P .99 pack, cause that was a great deal, how about more of those.
Also i join legendary on the last weekend (coming up) for the free pack, i will continue to do so simply because it's not breaking the rules, it may be frowned upon but if they didn't want it they wouldn't make it so it could happen, simply don't reward me! force me to chase the loot.

This is the exact reason. I get up at 4:30 in the morning to get ready for work. I quickly go through 4 of my games to collect, request, etc, because they are based on time. The one that takes me the most time is this game. I try to get 5 quick kills to get my free pack because the reward system here is so stingy on cards. I can probably max out in legendary around rank 2500. But the last time i was there and tried to get my free packs, it took me 30 minutes. I don't have that much time in the morning. So I make sure I'm around rank 8000-10000 before I go to bed so when I wake up, it only takes me 10 minutes at most to get my kills.

Edit: I got as high as rank 1500 once, and it took me 1 hour to get my free pack. I'm not doing that again. This game, compared to the other 3 games I play, is the most stingiest when it comes to rewarding cards. If you want to play a game that gives a lot of rewards, try Tactical Monsters or Clash Royale.

Deranking also ****s up the competitive ladder.

Let's say I try to stay in the top500 tier of the ladder for the whole season (simply because that's the way I want to play the game), and I get beat by a player whose rank is 2000+ but has a top100 worthy deck. How do you think I feel? I just lost a ton of elo, probably a lot of ranks in the ladder as well and I need to climb it back. and that's extremely frustrating. It ain't too bad during the first weeks of a season, but in the last week when people suddenly try to rank up to get better rewards, it sucks because I feel like I just lost all the effort I made for staying on top.

So yeah I don't like derankers in Legendary, but I also understand why so many ppl do it. And it won't change until RL changes the structures/contents of rewards.

Coveted even.), but to cheat in direct competition with another person is just beyond worthless.
If this game was around in your high school days you would have been cheating on this as well. People de rank to get easy quick mats and cards then towards the end of the season climb the leader board for the season end rewards. It basically doesnt matter where you are ranked til the end of the season when rewards are given out so derank before events so that the events themselves are easier. This is the way a lot of people play the game. I am not even in legendary yet so I dont but I can totally understand why some people do
