    Sneaking up on the archer causes hint box about knocking out NPCs to freeze the game

    While trying to complete the mission Equal Employment Opportunity Program, sneaking up on the archer causes the hint about knocking out NPCs to freeze the game. I can't advance or reload a save to get out of it.

    I've let it sit overnight and it stays frozen.
    Deleted saves and replayed. Still freezes.
    Gone off to play elsewhere in the game. When I return later, it still freezes.
    Quitting the game and clearing the Xbox One cache does nothing, neither does a hard reset. Still frozen.
    I turned off everything in the HUD and it still freezes.
    I've uninstalled and reinstalled the game and it still freezes.
    It's a digital download. Still freezes.
    The game is currently installed on the Xbox One drive, not the extra drive. Sense a theme? Still freezing.

    So I've paid $80 to play a game for 10 hours before I have to start over. Grandma's retired, I don't have that kind to money to throw around for nothing.

    UPDATE: I moved the game from the internal drive to the external drive and cleared the cache. I was finally able to recruit the archer and complete the quest. Hope this helps someone else.

    Im having the same issue now amd donot want to pay for an external hard drive, any advise much appreciated in advance.

    I’m having the same problem now on PS4. No error message. Updated system software and cleared cache, didn’t help.

    Hey Pokeyklutz, thanks for getting in touch and welcome to forums!

    First and foremost - apologies about the delayed response from our team and I am sorry about the issue you're having.

    In order to resolve this, can I just double-check whether you've possibly tried steps suggested above?

    Also, is your game fully up to date? If it is, would you be able to try going back to your previous save file and load up the game, to see if freezing persists.
