Buff everyone else instead.
Most heroes are boring 1-trick ponies because their kits are so small. The Wu Lin are a good start into a better game.
Remember why Kungfu movies or battles in Lord of the Ring are so fun to watch. Because you get to see all those cool moves, not just 3 or 4 different ones like some of the heroes in this game.
An actual fighter learns dozens over dozens of techniques.
All of the new heros have attacks and abilities that can counter and cheese that crap out of the old heros. They can barely be countered too. Shaolin especially, his side step heavy hit box and tracking is broken. Tiandi has the fastest lights in the game for sure and you have no chance against it. NERF THEM!
Shows you have no clue what you are talking about. His side step heavy doesn't track. Learn the heroes before you complain about them.Originally Posted by sweedishpretzel Go to original post
You can't say that they are broken because it is so obvious that they aren't and if you can't see that you need help.Originally Posted by sweedishpretzel Go to original post
Awesome logic with 0 arguments. The only arguments you have delivered were false information, and you have continued that trend.
The only thing obvious here is that you never played him, don't know anything about him and are just butthurt for getting beat by Shaolin players.
Right, so this is something I hear a lot "The Wu Lin aren't overpowered, everyone else is just underpowered and need to be changed!"
Cool, so your point is that instead of nerfing the Wu Lin the devs need to waste a ridiculous amount of time changing the kits of every single hero - something they're already doing. Lets look at Warden and Valk, who were relatively recently reworked - they still aren't as strong as the Wu Lin.
Now, why is this a silly thought, considering they're planning on reworking all the original heroes? Let's see... for a moment let's pretend that magically within the next year they manage to rework EVERY hero, so during all that time we're going to be playing against characters that have an unfair advantage? Fun.
Second issue: it's likely to take over a year, during that time the Wu Lin will have an UNFAIR ADVANTAGE
The third issue is counterability; now, I'm unsure if you've ever played Absolver, while I love that game it's not accessible, let me explain why in case you have no idea what it is: there are a ridiculous amount of moves and mixups, meaning that defending efficiently can be a chore, granted the game is that way because it's suppose to be a difficult, semi-realistic fighting game that forces you to react based on recognizing the moves purely by perception alone, For Honor isn't Absolver, it's meant to be a far simpler 3D fighting game that's accessible, accessible means being able to learn what each hero has rather quickly and be able to fight them, even if in a rather simple manner, the difficulty comes in mastering all the mechanics. If every hero had a ridiculous amout of moves, openers, soft feints, 50/50s, and assureds then that kills the accessibility, the very top tier players will enjoy it while newbies will get wrecked by aggression more than they already do.
I agree that some characters need light reworks (such as Gladiator who I feel should have a weaker zone, better reflex, and good openers aside from the zone) while others require strong reworks (like Shugoki who is pretty much useless in a duel), but the idea that we need every character to have an overloaded kit is inane, most characters are not one trick ponies and if you think you are, then you're likely playing them in a subpar manner.
You already answered your own questions. Older heroes need to be reworked. Older heroes are being reworked.Originally Posted by TechtehScience Go to original post
Balancing will have to be constantly performed anyway and how Ubi do it is their business because a lot of things have to be considered.
Also I said that Wu Lin kits shouldn't be nerfed but maybe the numbers, because balancing has to continue, so you wrote a whole book for nothing.
I agree with you, old heroes and I primarily mean starting heroes needs elevation to a new standard.Originally Posted by IntCel Go to original post
Thought out post being a book, yes clearly what we need are decisions made on one-line points. Also, the title of your post is literally: "DON'T NERF THE WU LIN" and now your immediate response is: "I think maybe the numbers..."
I mean, do you not get what a nerf is? If they lessen their damage statistics, speed, etc, that's *nerfing*. If you *want* them to be nerfed but in a *specific* way maybe you should say that, instead of not being clear and then complaining other people don't understand you.
Also, their kits will have to be lightly changed (example: Shugoki's Oni Charge used to knock down, it doesn't anymore but it works identically to how it previously used to). Monk's defensive back dodge, for example, is too safe and Nuxia is useless in a 1v1 but completely broken when ganking, she can just constantly use her hooks and they're quick enough that you won't have much time to decide and will just reactively block the gank and get hit by both her and your other opponent, of course you can slow down the speed of this attack but then she becomes even worse in a 1v1 and it doesn't change the fact that two communicating players can have a Nuxia throw a ganking hook while the main opponent attacks in the same direction right after, making attacks nigh-impossible to protect against.
In other words, their kits will almost definitely need some tools changed.
