Hey,
I was just playing Nidia's Cash Mission last night in Ghost Mode (my 2nd play through of the campaign) on Advanced. It's the mission where you need to hack her computer to incriminate Pulpo. While the mission has no requirements, I would think for the hack to be believable, it would need to be carried out without any suspicious activity. In other words, no one sees you, no one is harmed or dies, and there is no other obvious sign you were there.
I can't find a way to complete this mission under these added constraints. I tried to play it this way a few times, by sneaking into the building, but that seems difficult with the number of guards and their locations. Night doesn't help. I tried to use a rebel diversion, even though that's pushing the limits of my constraints, but even that wasn't enough to enable me to slip through.
Short of switching to Arcade, can anyone think of a way to do this mission under my constraints above?
It would make for a good weekly challenge, although those are usually easily cheated by just sync-shotting everyone.
With your constraints it's going to be tough. Just watched a few Youtube videos to get a feel for the situation, and it looks like there's going to be a few SB in the building containing the PC. Getting in and out without a trace is going to be tough. There is a little entrance on the ground floor on the north side near the cliff face, however. It would probably take a bit of trial and error and potentially some noise maker drones for the exit.
It really depends on how you qualify that... realistically, or game-wise?Originally Posted by VirtualRain1 Go to original post
By saying, "I would think for the hack to be believable", it suggests you mean realistically...
Realistically, a guard would have to have a length of rebar through their cranium to not consider any sensory anomaly as "suspicious" and comm it or activate an alarm. That applies to whistling drones, green-glowing smoke orbs, parachuting on the roof (even if your chute would magically disappear on landing), rival faction bumps, etc., etc.
Game-wise, if riding by on a tricycle in a clown costume while tooting a horn diverts everyone away from their posts (esp. sensitive intel) while another element secures direct access to an objective, and then they all skip back to their posts completely oblivious, by all means...![]()
Yes, I was thinking realistically. My thinking was, that if any of the onsite staff witnessed anything suspicious and reported it in the investigation, Nidia might conclude that someone other than Pulpo was behind the hack and the attempt to frame him might fail.Originally Posted by V4MPiR1 Go to original post
Maybe rather than leaving no trace whatsoever, it's actually better to have the civilian staff on site report something like..."Someone who looked like Pulpo with a big black cowboy hat and his sicarios showed up, killed all your men, went into that building there for awhile, and then left".
So perhaps the realistic way to role-play this is to dress one team member up like Pulpo as best you can, and a few like sicarios and carry out the mission by driving up the driveway in a cartel vehicle, killing all cartel members, hacking the computer, and leaving the same way they came. You would have to disable the alarms prior to ensure no reinforcements showed up or it would get really ugly. And for good measure, you would probably want to use cartel weapons in case anyone looked at shell casings left on the scene. Any video surveillance might actually hold up as well.
Thoughts?
Realistically, if you have a good hack, the only reason to use here computer is so that no one will be able to tell point of origin, and thus give away the changed data. If you were trying to plant that kind of false monetary record, you would want to use her computer, and then make a mess of the scene. Me personally, I'd kill everyone there, so that are no witnesses and blow the snot out of the computer when I was done. Actually I'd probably drag some bodies into the building fill the walls with some bullet holes and be rather free with tossing frags around so it looked like her people made a valiannt last stand in her office and the computer was collateral damage.
With any hack like that, give cyber forensic types long enough and they will figure it out, forensic accountants too. So whatever you are going to do or stir up will need to be relatively quick(within days to a week maybe two weeks at the outside). So make it a mess and make your next move before they really start to sort out what really went down.
I’ve sort of wondered why there are no ‘disguise’ missions. Especially Unidad, since some of the uniforms are virtually full face anyway.Originally Posted by VirtualRain1 Go to original post
Me too. But it would require some kind of game mechanic that adjusted enemy detection based on clothing. This has been asked for countless times... for gillie suits, camo, and disguises. Maybe the next game will include this. It would open up a lot more stealth type options.Originally Posted by Hugo-FOU Go to original post
Definitely something we've brought to the attention of the team. Good luck on this mission whatever way you choose to approach it. Let us know how it goes!Originally Posted by VirtualRain1 Go to original post
