First of all, perks... I see a lot of the player base hates it, as do I. All the gear I grinded for to make my already broken Shinobi viable is gone and replaced with useless perks. Gear stats helped me bring his defense up to a point where he can survive a 2v1, maybe a 3v1... I die in 3-4 hits now.
Secondly, Animations vs minions...
Bring them back, trying to run through minions and Chase after a runner or revive a teammate is now a f@˘#!n chore. I would, over exaggeration alert, prefer not to spend my entire game killing 4 pikemen/archers/soldiers... In actuality, it takes roughly 15 seconds per minion if you don't have to worry about any nearby heroes. Bring the animations back.
Broke the game all to hell... Smh
Perks were a welcomed change. Most everyone in my 1000 person channel on discord, has no issue with it. This is an overreaction by players who have a tough time fighting with actual skill, and are used to being able to stack revenge gear stats and damage stats to find clear advantages through gear exploits. The perk system remedies this and adds the ability to balance easier while also facilitating team play strategies between actual people who play together.
And in fact, IT WAS asked for. The community who has been here since the closed betas, has always had an issue with stat based gear because it is difficutl to balance, and it was at one point SEVERELY broken. They toned it back a bit after season 3. But it was still bad. This is appropriate.
The animations vs creeps. I AGREE. I miss it, I thought it was cool.
But fighting at point B in the creep waves is no longer a good idea either. They wanted to make clearing easier so that players wouldnt get caught mid animation vs creeps getting jumped by stealth heros... I get it... but I still iked the uniqueness of fighting creeps with unique animations.
This change is also a precursor toward the direction the game is heading. All new heroes use light attack primarily for combo maneuvers and tactics. Heavy is phased out a bit except to finish. Meaning the devs are starting to gear the fighting to a more fast paced brawl. Clearing creeps doesnt work with this strategy.
But. I do miss it. Epsecially on my raider. I wouldnt mind seeing it come back.
I get more frsutrated that the creeps can interrupt my executions.
