I do totally agree that the small things are the things that make good games great. As far as the Shaman goes, while I did think her and her moveset were very annoying, I think she did get better after this update, she actually cracks a smile here and there. And back in the beta when she talked, her dialogue was very interesting and made her character more palatable. Her soldier killing animations were good as well I think, it really made her seem absolutely crazed and desperate. The design of those animations kinda reminded me of Aiden Pearce from Watchdogs, how they emphasized his melee moves to be very to-the-point and brutal, wasting no time to get the job done.Originally Posted by Tareyus Go to original post
Removing those animations is still, hands down, the worst change they've ever made.
Half the reason people play this game is for the spectacle -- the animations in the fights, executions, and even just moving around are a pleasure to look at. Cutting out so much of that content just made the game feel noticeably worse. and I've yet to hear a good reason for it.
It didn't make it easier to clear minions. Before the change you could choose to use the current system by locking on (which was extremely sluggish, clunky, and boring to look at, but it worked in some situations with some characters) or you could flow from one minion to the next with beautifully choreographed takedowns and get pretty much the same result. All this change did was remove all our options only to leave us with the most boring one.
It didn't make the characters more balanced. The fact that assassins had mostly single-target takedown animations encouraged them to take points and kill other heroes, which is what they do best. I actually thought that was an intentional design choice, because it was pretty damn clever and worked really well. Apparently it wasn't though, because rather than improving the extreme minority of heroes that had slow animations (raider, aramusha, etc), they axed the entire system.
It didn't make the game more competitive. Dominion is not, has never been, and will never be a competitive mode, and yet it's the only mode where these changes make any sort of difference.
I can't find a single good reason for deleting one of the most iconic parts of the game. What's next, removing the execution system? Getting rid of all of the emotes? Deleting all the post-match cutscenes? Oh wait they already did that.
to see if it's possible ?????Originally Posted by Ubiflowessence Go to original post
WHY DID YOU TAKE IT AWAY IN THE FIRST PLACE ?????
.
Pikemen take more than one hit, and the team wants a unified experience across game modes.Originally Posted by MrB3NX Go to original post
We're continuing to let the team know that people want it back.
We don't need it for Breach since we understand that Pikemen take more than one hit, but we need it for Dominion and Skirmish (Also archers in Breach if possible).Originally Posted by UbiInsulin Go to original post
