So I was experimenting a little with my fully optimized, classified D3FNC. I've not used it much, and never in PvP, so it was intended to be a learning experience. I should note I have it rolled to 9k STAM, plus crazy CHC (50%) and over 100% CHD.
So anyway, a rogue who happens to also have D3FNC and I face tanked, and he literally melted me in a second, like my shield wasn't even there.
Is this a cheat, or is there someplace you're supposed to aim that isn't protected? I was aiming straight at his head, but he seemed to take almost no damage, while I was down so fast it was crazy.
It could be lag. It happens a lot that you think you are shooting at them but they're not actually there and they have had a head start on shooting at you so by the time the game catches up, you've taken one or two entire clips.
I feel this way in Last Stand sometimes but I recall it happened in my favor once.
Not so sure, because it only favored him - and by a LOT.Originally Posted by Sangersss Go to original post
I was curious and went at him 3 more times and the result was the same every time. I asked in the chat how he's shooting around or through my shield but his only response was a repeated "EZ."
I guess the real reason for my asking is if it were to happen again is there a specific spot on the other player's character I should aim for to get the same results, but it sounds like not. I am pretty new to D3FNC, so wanted to be sure I wasn't just clueless about some "Achilles heel" area that Massive designed in.
So unless someone corrects me otherwise I'll assume that it was most likely an aimbot. He was able to down me so fast despite my crazy high toughness and all my shield buff mods that 100% headshots around my shield is about the only way that makes sense.
Wouldn't he still have to go through my shield? It was alive and well - I took all the damage.Originally Posted by Andrewszed Go to original post
This has happened to me now and then although not consistently. I'm aware you can shoot a d3 in the hand/arm/gun if they are shooting but it has happened to me while I wasn't.Originally Posted by Sock_Monkey Go to original post
I have seen other d3 users shields seemingly being held horizontally rather than vertically which might just be a visual glitch and usually corrects after the shield is redeployed (e.g after sprinting).
I don't see how it can be an aimbot as I'm on ps4, lag maybe but unlikely as it can be just the one incident in a ten minute skirmish match.
I don't know of any sweet spot on the actual shield that allows bullets to bypass it straight to the player behind it.
I do however use the reactive targeting mod as you don't get the bonuses but you do get the extra wings on your shield which are not massive but every little helps.
I think it is the exploit. 9k Fa is high enough to kill you quickly. Of course, it is possible that he used an aimbot, too. I have never had the impression that the shield has a weak spot you have to hit to melt the shield bearer. Would destroy the sense of the shield. Therefore, my guess is the FA exploit.
