Medusa boss fight is way too hard!

Ok this is ridiculous I'm literally stuck. I just can't beat this boss. I'm level 50, all skilled up, with full legendary gear, all engraved nicely, I play on normal difficulty but after the first unlucky fight, I set it to easy and I still can't beat her. She takes too little damage and deals massive damage very quickly that even second wind ability can't save me. I hate it when such bosses are way too hard even on easy setting in games like this. I work on her for like 10 minutes, can barely take half of her health only to die some time later because something always goes wrong when the fight takes that long yet there are no checkpoints between the phases. What to do now? I can't progress any further in my game.
A similar issue happened in AC Origins too with those chariot races, then it was tweaked. This one is worse than that because it's part of the main story and must be done in order to continue. There's a reason why we have difficulty settings, just please ubi, when I choose easy, let it be actually easy.

I killed her mostly with arrows because having to run and hide every time she casts her stonegaze was annoying. Yes, it took forever to kill her. That was pretty much the only thing that was "hard" about her. Probably took me 15 minutes at least :P

    Level 50
    Poisoned daggers
Bow that sets normal arrows on fire
    Normal difficulty

Predator shots to the face. When low on Stamina/Wrath or whatever its name is, go for some hits with your melee weapon (grunts will help you recharge). Hide behind pillars from its gaze

Todat I finally managed to kill her. Thanks for the tips btw. Turns out no need to try catching her to hit with melee weapon, using only the bow is enough. Hide, dodge, shoot rinse and repeat that's it.

I agree this boss fight is way too difficult on Easy setting. I have done everything that can possibly be done with this game and this is impossible for me. Killed every legendary animal, won hard battles etc. Basicallly I get blasted to bits from the "get go". I'd swear that there is something wrong with the PC version as having watched YouTube videos of this fight played on other platforms, they seem to be reasonably easy. When I hide behind pillars I just get blasted. I even have all legendary gear! I wanted to complete this but if there is no fix for it then I'll just be done with it. Shame really as apart from this it has been for the most part enjoyable.

No offense intended but... git gud!

I played it on easy and i had no issues with this fight whatsoever. Just stand behind one of the pillars when she's firing her laser, and try to stay stationary while taking out the statues, which shouldn't be that hard at all. Once all the statues are defeated, Medusa will get tired and you can go up close and personal with as much as two Overpower attacks, assuming you didn't waste any adrenaline on the statues.

I did this at lv48 with not even the best gear iirc.

Alot of people make the mistake of just equipping the gear that has the highest armor rating, but you need to focus on your playstyle. If you never use a bow, then don't ever bother equipping anything that raises your hunter skills. Assassin damage will be pointless for this fight, so switch out anything you have with assassin skills for something with warrior skills. Armor rating is literally the last thing i worry about when choosing what gear to equip... Also, legendary gear is often overrated.

Also, upgrade your spear as much as you can. Doing an overpower attack uses 3 adrenaline bars, which, when your spear is upgraded to lv6, would heal you for 30% with every overpower attack.

Appreciate what you are saying. If only standing behind a pillar was anywhere near safe. I tried that and just got blasted to bits in 5 secs! I'll keep trying but I can't help but feel this has got the better of me. The one and only AC game that has.

Actually what he says is right, hiding behind a pillar saves you from her gaze which turns you in to stone, but you must be agile and fast during the whole fight pay attention to the sounds she makes right before she starts her gaze attack or the bombing attack. You can't just hide behind a pillar ans stay there for too long. I managed to beat her by hitting her with fire arrows from behind pillars while she stands still and lazer gazes, then immediately run and dodge when she finishes since she starts bombing right after. The trick is being fast. Attack fast, hide fast, aim fast, move fast untill she dies. Keep trying you'll make it.

Actually.....assassin gear can be quite good, defeated her while wearing full Pirate set with +Assassin Damage weapons. Fully upgraded Hero Strike does enough damage that you can pretty much send Medusa back into her bubble with a single one. It takes about 4 of them with ~100k assassin damage to kill her.

If you don't like relying purely on single skill, add Overpower attacks, combined with poison weapons (and possibly -1 overpower attack cost engraving). I haven't yet found a situation I can't deal with using that combination of skills
