The perk system is just a cash grab, a lot of people payed money to upgrade and build the gear of the mains they play and Ubisoft know that, they also know that by changing the gear stat system to this they exploit those same loyal people all over again and it's bordering on illegal what they've done, they've taken our hard earned progress away In the hope that the player base will make yet another financial investment into the game to bring the characters they use up to speed, they've begun to exploit the community they depend on and it shouldn't be allowed
Nope, no more inexperienced players getting carried by their gear. The fact that so many people hate the new system is hilarious. Play some ranked, or duel, or brawl, something without gear, if you're good and you preform well in those areas you have nothing to worry about. But if you preform bad and only did good In Dominion with your busted gear and ganks then that sucks for you, learn how to play without it. It was a dumb Huge advantage. for anyone who didn't play as much or is beginning a character it was boring and aggravating. The game should be skill based not whoever has grinded for gear.
It's very interesting that people keep saying inexperienced players however do not give examples, inexperienced players that spam lights are the ones i suppose you wanna mention, however what you do not realise is the character like lawbro, cent, shugoki, valk etc are the ones effected by perk, other characters are fine with spamming lights such as orochi, pk, nobushi etc.You say that inexperinced players carried by gear, but that gear is rewarded for playing matches is it not?, meaning even if they loose every match it will take longer for them to level up then one who learns and even if they loose they still understand some things, characters like orochi are what brings the for honor down, spamming lights nothings else, earlier it was still managable to handle ganks but now ganks by orochis is really bad, bad stamina cost, low regen and bad revenge leads to really tough battles in siege or dominion. I played the game from open beta to now on both Xbox and PC. My LB is rep 12 on console playing almost exclusively brawls, and my Centurion was working its way up as well, on PC he's around rep 16. I didn't need gear stats, just like so many other people who liked the ability to customize your builds on characters and have a unique way of playing them, so stop assuming we just want to be carried by gear because this toxic attitude many people are taking when defending the new system by attacking people who like the old one is going to drive an even bigger wedge between everyone than it already has.
I had multiple builds on my characters depending on what kind of match I was playing, whether it was extremely offensive with damage or bulky with a lot of stamina or medic sets with revive speed. It offered diversity of characters beyond just seeing however many was in the character menu, and now it's been replaced by an extremely underwhelming system that will not be of any use at all and effectively presses the reset button on everyone who didn't start out with this expansion. That's extremely frustrating in itself and especially when we were effectively handed random stats to work with for perks with our old armor. I have ridiculously high numbers of one stat because all my armor seems to tailor to it? Why not at LEAST let us have some kind of selection when our old stats got changed?No, complete wipe.
The old system had its issues, certainly so with revenge builds, but they were also ways of soft patching some characters glaring issues that Ubisoft refuses to fix, and for some reason people think this will make them realize the issues and fix them faster when it won't, be honest. The new system has even greater issues in that it's entirely forgettable and butchers any sense of build diversity between the same character picks.
If you like the new system, then you're entitled to have that opinion, but stop trying to trash on anyone who disagrees and wants the old one back.
I say inexperienced to be nice instead of calling them garbage players. The fact that you're complaining about pk and nobushi proves my point. You don't know the meta by how good the character is and how viable, you think the meta is what it was in ganks, gear and feats. Even then, pk and nobushi are both awful. Gear is rewarded for playing extesivly reguardless win or lose and once you get orange and teal gear it carries you. Even purple. It's called stamina management and character balance not be carried and reliant on gear. Create an argument about dual then, you gonna say gear belongs In dual? the problem with removing gear stats is that it makes 4v4 modes less fun, and I hated revenge builds. It was nice to have something to boost stamina since youre almost always in a gankfest type situation, with tons of chars attacking you with stamina draining attacks. Of course duels shouldn't have gear stats because there are no externalities in the fight, its about mind games and reaction speed. 4v4 imo needed the stats because its either a constant chaotic OOS gankfest where teams that don't coordinate well get thrashed, or constantly running away from the team to prolong the loss, either way gear stats helped make the gameplay more fast paced and fluid.
Do I think that revenge was a problem? yes it needed some serious looking at, but overhauling the system without extensive testing of the new one is a large mistake. what it does show however, is that stamina needs a hard look at by the devs, but given their response by way of the perk system, I'd rather they just returned stats minus the revenge build and call it good. That being said I did enjoy the rarer 1v1s that happen in dom, having stam reduction made for some crazy mind games which I found quite fun.
why are you being so sanctimonious? who made you the chief on how For Honor should be? and the point is this, UBisoft have shifted the Goal posts, dramatically, this is now a fundamentally differant game, and your absolutely right this game is now about one thing and one thing only, stamina mangement, now that clearly seems to rock your world but it doesnt mine, infact it switches me right off, and this slight of hand of basically pressing the reset button that UBI has pulled here may be hunky dory with the Dualist club but it has has pissed me and many others off royally as everything we've invested both in time and money has just been thrown out the ****ing window without a how do you do and i for one am sick of it, i have neither the time or the energy for this BS anymore and ive been onboard since beta, so your happy with the changes, enjoy them then go and play and give the pontificating a ****ing rest, its nauseating.Originally Posted by iadvisoryi Go to original post

Gear was almost meaningless. Those extra 0-10% here and there changed literally NOTHING. Just the revenge build was a bit too strong, but values like Attack or Defense were alright.
