    It isn’t really fun

Level 3 bots are way too powerful. Always have been. They’re frame perfect, don’t fall for feints or even soft feints, and parry almost anything you throw at them. So now that there’s a mode dedicated to them, and modifiers that can either push you through or completely end a quest forcing you to restart, there should’ve been a change made to them. Just sayin’.

This is quite a fun gamemode and I really like the randomness of the fights. Heck, you even went through the trouble of putting little stories to each one which is neat. My only problem is the higher levels are pretty much impossible without a friend and a lot of cheese. This is in part due to level 3 bots reading your inputs and perfect countering in what i call "defense mode" seen by the bot doing nothing and staring at you, and then responding with perfect mixups and max punish combos in what i call "attack mode". Maybe tone down the insanity of high tier bots a bit. Other than that the game mode is fun as hell and common rarity makes you feel like a god.

    Modifiers ruining the experience

I have overall had a pretty good time with this game mode, but I hate when you are playing and you run up against an encounter your character's skill set it a total blank against. I love centurion, but I relegate my playtime with him to single player since he sucks right now. However, when I get the uninterruptable combined with the doesn't stagger on parries or throws, I can't do anything except spam kick, which most of the bots just dodge. I honestly think the modifiers need a looking at, and they need to be changed so that it isn't just artificial difficulty. This artificial difficulty is more acceptable in the random quests, but the weekly quests should be a challenge that must be figured out rather than just making some buffed to hell enemies and taking away your UI. Anyway, that is just my rant, but since I paid $30 for this mode, I think it should be made more fun and a more relaxing style of play that still provides a challenge, rather than taking 2 hours for me to finish any legendary quest bc the characters I chose to rep in previous seasons are no longer viable.

The time that made me write a post in this thread was when I was using Centurion against Holden the lvl 3 LB bot, I was getting the odd hit in but he was parrying nearly every light and heavy I threw, all parries were followed by impales. Tried about 15 times, closest I came was getting him down to two bars and the fighting I had to do to get that much was pretty sweaty.

I picked HL next try, I beat every match with only dying twice, and I don't consider myself a great HL. It's just the kits, the unblockables and hyper armor are things lvl 3 bots can't defend against so easily, using characters without these options can make winning literally impossible with certain mods active.

The truth is in the pudding, I removed the private tag on the video to unlisted. You should be able to see and cringe at the sh*tshow that is me trying to defend myself against the highest bot level of a Shaolin and a Berserker. The berserker I could've easily dealt with, but it was the Shaolin that I simply couldn't go up against.

Weekly Quest and General Arcade suggestions

    1) Online Matchmaking

Add online matchmaking so players can play co-op with other owners of the Marching Fire Expansion or FH Marching Fire Edition instead of relying on the friend system which currently makes co-op access difficult for many.

    2) Allow Feats
Allow players to use their feats in weekly quests to help even the odds.

    3) Damage & Defense Nerf the AI

The current damage buff to the AI combined with the damage nerf players receive is a cheap way to add difficulty to the weekly quests. Surely the modifiers, numbers game, and level 3 bot behaviour are enough to make the game mode challenging. Remove any damage and defense buffs to the AI, and damage and defense nerfs to the player that are not dictated by the modifiers because these effectively act as unlisted modifiers. The only acceptable factor to the damage and defense difference between AI and the player is gear score, otherwise, the gear score recommendation is very misleading.

    4) Add Multiple Difficulties or Remove Gear Score Barrier from Weekly Quests
Consider adding multiple difficulties for weekly quests so certain characters for each player is not locked out by the gear score. The bot behaviour can still be challenging but the damage issue would be addressed. If a player attempts a difficulty lower than their gear score then their gear score can be temporarily modified according to the difficulty.

The alternative suggestion would be to remove the gear score barrier for weekly quests and let the bot behavior and modifiers dictate the challenge. Multiple difficulties can still apply but would mainly determine the bot level.

    5) More Rewards
While Arcade Mode and the Weekly Quests are still in their infancy, I hope to see the following exclusive rewards in the future:

    a) More effects.
    b) Outfits - Elite, Mythic, and Mask. Give it a 5-year wait before adding Battle outfits.
    c) Ornaments.
    c) Weapons and armour.
    d) Gear, outfits, ornaments, emotes, and effects from past events. Keep them in the system and exclusive to weekly quests.
    e) Loot crates, premium scavenger crates, and even past event crates.
    f) Steel - from completing quests on higher difficulties.

    6) Guaranteed Drops Upon Completion
Drops for the effects and other exclusive rewards for the completion of the weekly quests should be guaranteed. It is very frustrating for the players to spend hours completing weekly quests multiples times, especially with the same character, only not to receive the special reward.

    7) More Varied Quests
Consider adding more varied quests instead of subjecting players to just fighting variations of bot AI. Examples include the following:

    a) Boss Battles:
Boss battles with Apollyon, Daubeny, Gundmundr, General Tozen, Beval the Medusa, Musashi the Crane, Heidrek the Warthog, and other notorious characters from the For Honor mythology.

    b) Incorporating Other Game Modes:
Incorporate other game modes into weekly quests such as Inferno Dominion, Ice Brawlers, Test Your Metal, Dance of Death, Carousel of Death, Tribute, and Breach. Also, consider modified variations of these modes.

    c) Missions from Story Mode:
Create an arcade version of the story mode campaign that allows players to play through the campaign with any character they want but with the story and cutscenes omitted, of course. Each chapter/mission could be a weekly quest. Modifiers and special twists can apply such as hidden items and hidden bosses. Defeating hidden bosses and finding hidden items could unlock exclusive rewards.

    d) Beast Slayer:
Consider adding beasts depicted from the Mask outfits, ornaments, symbols, etc. from the cosmetics to both random and weekly quests. Examples include the following:

    • Gryphons - Gryphon Wraith, Glacial Gryphon, Luminary Griffin, etc.
    • Beast of Lycia
    • Scream Beast
    • Night Beast
    • Demons / Oni - Valcun, Surtr, Kagutsuchi, Soul Eater, Inferno Demon, etc.
    • Koromodako
    • Buffalo Blue
    • Bog Witch
    • Medusa
    • The Petrifier
    • Death / Reaper
    • Giants - Ogre, Ymir, etc.
    • Dragons - Deep Freeze Dragon, Fire Drake, Prow Dragon, Nidhogg, etc.
    • Dragon Horse
    • Phoenix
    • Giant monsters – Spider, Serpent, Boar, Sabretooth Tiger, Kraken, etc.
    • Werewolves
    • Undead

Also, consider adding a Beast Slayer mode for players who want to take a break from killing regular bot AI.

Has anyone suggested to UBI a Map Editor for For Honor similar to the one in Far Cry 5. This would ABSOLUTELY prolong the life of this game. In addition, I'm sure the Map Editor code for Far Cry 5 could serve as a "base program" for an editor in For Honor.

    Think of the possibilities.

    Thanks

I did a thread that touches on this idea. Tell me what you think.
