I think you do not understand or do not want to understand.

When I fight someone, I do not want him to have an advantage over me (gear stats) because he played the game more. If he played more, he should be more skilled than me and so he will beat me. There is your advantage. Put your effort in mastering your character.
And you're diverting the point. The point of that discussion was about attention span. Those who spend the hours, days, weeks, months, and even a year grinding have a lot more focus than someone who wants to just step in, play a while, and waltz off.

And to your point, then please explain the point of putting in more than a few months into a game that has absolutely zero reason for progression at this point? How are you going to keep all of those veterans who lost countless hours of playtine in the game? How are you going to attract enough players to make up for their losses....not just right now, but over the next few months?

You keep saying this game is supposed to be like Soul Calibur (though you can't prove that), but when you look at their numbers, it's pitiful. The active players are small by comparison. Already I can see it. Before MF, dominion was always "very high" activity, and I'd get in a game within a minute. Now it's on "high" and it's taking 3 times as long to get into a game, and people leave that round shortly thereafter. Perks are killing the game. You may not want to face that reality, but reality doesn't care. Your preferred game is flawed badly, and nearly to the point of no return.

The one question is: If you love tekken and soul calibur so much, why aren't you just there playing? Those are obviously the games you really want.

Not a fraction of time. Nearly 30 to 50% less time before it started to regen. Did you actually check the %? And it added to the power of 180 geared hero vs non geared because they could care less about stamina management since they were less punished by it.

Because you need something to keep your attention on to play a game, a.k.a grinding. If there is not such thing, you will get bored because you can't be bothered to improve your own skill.

It is high activity on Dominion, because there is Breach? So that split the playerbase? And now, there is even the event? Do you actually think before typing something?

I agree with this, something like gear stats made my pitiful Shugoki somewhat viable thanks to the augmented stamina pool. Now I run out of stamina after 3 heavies

Again, dominating with facts as I always do, but fail to see included in your points:

Here are the numbers on Steam. Look at August. HUGE rise in players there. Then a 37% drop in September, and another 30% over the past 30 days. Guess what happened in September? Perks were announced/talked about more in WD, and the beta happened.

Yeah...I'm sure you're going to work hard to find some way to twist these numbers, or are they all just low attention span? Go ahead...call thousands of players low attention span.

Month Avg. Players Gain % Gain Peak Players
    Last 30 Days 9,044.8 -3,966.6 -30.49% 19,619
    September 2018 13,011.5 -7,651.3 -37.03% 37,553
    August 2018 20,662.8 +15,523.8 +302.08% . 216,499

Nope.. just because they have gear advantage doesnt mean they always win.. u could win with the proper tactic, and learn how to counter it..

    Ok, i'll give u a lesson

If u find an enemy that has a revenge build, Never ever blindly attack him or try gangrape before u realize his blocking and parrying skill.. make sure that your attack is efficient by staring contest and feint trick.. make him dont get the revenge.. and if he get revenge then there is 2 possible option, first dont be aggresive stay calm and keep parrying if u can.. the second, u should run a little bit till the revenge gone.. its simple.. There is always a way if u smart enough..

Actually I am surprised people want to build this game as a Tekken or Soul Calibur rip-off.

Keep in mind you won't ever get attacked by multiple enemies in tekken, in tekken you don't have a map you have to position yourself on. Gear stats were actually what made this game feel alive and players distinguishable. Gear stats allowed someone like a Lawbringer play aggressively, now you run out of stamina after 1 mixup.

Not rly, huge peak because FH is free in august. Then the game naturally bled players because it is always like that after a massive influx of new players (those who get the game but do not like it, etc...). You see facts but you have issues to comprehend them.

And since the release of MF, numbers have been stable for now. A bit more player during weekend but that is normal.

A 300% increase due to the game being free...sure....but a 37% and 30% decrease after isn't "normal". 2 months after a free game doesn't see a 30% drop. Please stop talking like you're a game developer. I find it highly unlikely that you are. And again, no data to support that the numbers have been stable since MF. I just showed data proving a player drop, and you just talk like fiction with no proof to back it up.

Oh, and all those people that left...are they low attention span? According to you, they all came in in August and left within 2 months. Wouldn't that be considered low attention span?

The game lost 90% of the players at its release ^^ in 1 month, just so you know.

And check steam chart for the current playerbase on steam. Obv, Uplay or console are not in there but why the behavior would be different? Maybe on console because there is quite a lot of big release these days.
