I have thought very hard about 2 new modes I would like to see in For Honor and have come up with some detailed rules and mechanics for the modes. These will be completely different from any previously tested modes in the past.
Free-for-all:
4-person battle mode in medium sized maps with boosts available. Party limit 1 so if friends want to play together it must be a custom match. Winner is whoever reaches 20 takedowns first. Points are accumulated by dealing the death blow to someone, assists do not count. Timer will be roughly 10 minutes, testing can determine a more optimal time. Feats will be disabled as they will give too much of an advantage to certain Heros level 4 feats.
Guardian:
4 v 4 mode on large maps. Party limit 4. Feats will also be disabled as they can make one team MASSIVELY more powerful than another by allowing them to heal their own Guardian constantly. Utilizing the Guardian character from Breach mode both teams fight to kill the Guardian, who is neutral. Once the Guardian is killed, the player that killed that Guardian becomes a new Guardian. The player Guardian gains the Juggernaut feat, active at all times and increased defense and health, values to be determined through testing. If the player Guardian dies then the player that killed them becomes that teams new Guardian. Friendly fire against the Guardian is enabled however teammates cannot kill their own Guardian. Points are accumulated by the team with the Guardian keeping their Guardian alive and staying near them. If there are no players near their Guardian then point accumulation is only 1 per tik up to a max of 4 per tik. If there are enemy players too close to the Guardian, point accumulation stops. Objective is to earn 100 points by keeping your teams Guardian alive or to kill the enemy Guardian then defend your own. Match time will be roughly 10 minutes.
Both of these modes wil give us the chance to utilize our neutral color palletes since there is neither an attacker or defender team. I hope this suggestion actually reaches the dev team. What do you guys in the forum think of these ideas and do you have any refinement ideas?
