Your being overdramatic. First off the perk system is brand new and we need to test it more before actually reverting it back to the old patch.
One complaint I am having right now is why can't I utilize the entire perk system? I simply don't understand how to unlock the rest of the perks? I am still only using the same perks on all my weapons and armor.

I totally agree. See the perk system is a good idea only if attached to an individual gear leveling system. If you want to introduce new players then you need a tier lvl matchmaking system based on rep lvl. Where players rep 1-5, rep 6-10 and so on are matched to their respective lvl so that higher rep players cant gank the lower lvl players and you could even make it so low lvl players could at their own risk play high rank players but high rank players couldn't go into the lower lvl tiers. The perk system is NOT the way to go, it's only a piece of a bigger puzzle you need to solve. BTW how is it that a lvl 3 bot can insta revenge but we cannot now. Your whole system is broken including breach and I know alot of ppl that will agree with me on this.
Then perhaps you are confusing the game's genre with that of RPGs. For Honor was marketed as a fighting game, not adventure, not arcade, not rpg. On how many fighting games have you gone and said... yeah the characters are fine and all but all they need now is to get stronger with constant play and we are perfect. No competitive game (at least no popular one) ever emphasizes on that kind of system because it simply isn't... fair. Also note the word emphasize, some try to bring a form of increase in stats but the fact that you can't go overboard with evolving your character should already imply that trying to introduce progression is always dangerous territory.Originally Posted by DoctorMcBatman Go to original post
When someone wants to play a fighting game, they don't want to bother with stat percentage increases and whatnot. They want to quickly drop in, have fun and drop out. That's why for honor plainly always failed to satisfyingly deliver on a proper "progression" system. It simply can't work well on this sort of game. They wanted to splice rpg elements on a game where they had no business existing in the first place.
In fact there always was a progression system in place. That's not your character's in fighting games, that's yourself's. You get better by playing more, that's because you start understanding how the whole game works, albeit gradually.
The perks is another way of introducing progression but more utility-oriented this time. Even if it looks as if it's still barebones, most character bonuses on stats etc. that you can have now rely on conditions. You have to "do" something in-game in order to get that particular buff that you want. So far to me this seems at least less unfair. Like I said still early to really judge it as a whole, but so far I could see it as a potential improvement.
You're absolutely correct. I see it exactly the same. Nice pointing out btw that they worked indeed on this for half a year and yet kept their player base about it in the dark like they so often tend to do and what is in fact what was often criticized as what they are doing is not clearly transparent for the community and often missleading and false-promissing.Originally Posted by RebelOfWar Go to original post
I also agree that they really need to grant much more to compensate for this mess and finally get to work on the perks that are too weak. They had 1 month after the test and they did not do even the slightest change on the perks themselves nor did they put in more clarifying descriptions.
Well depending on what you would say is annoying. The only option is to get a little bit more shield through aegis and a shield after revenge with vengeful barrier. Which increases your survivability sure, but it does not increase your revenge gain nor your revenge duration and also not your damage. The shield boost is somewhat similar to what we had already with the revenge defence stat, so I don't see too much of a difference. Except that you run a good risk of not dependingly get to pop revenge if you are ganked due to the lack of revenge gain. In that case the whole shield increase is for naught.Originally Posted by Skrzymir Go to original post
Additionally only those characters who have these defensive perks can actually benefit from those combinations. The only one I know of is Highlander and I think Aramusha. I find that quite fair for Highlander (he is weak in revenge as he does not have good tools for crowd control and can use some shield protection there with his low HP in general) and unsuiting for Aramusha (his focus should better lie on DPS and speed gain, not holding out at some place - he is one character that shouldn't get hit too much and who doesn't excel in crowdcontrol). Heavies only have vengeful barrier available - none of them has aegis (lawbringer as a hybrid shares the same perks as the other heavies btw). Assassins on the other hand don't even have access to either of these perks and hence cannot benefit from an extented survivability through shield perks.
