For honor is just better with perk's then gear stats, for one players cant get revenge blocking three heavies in a gank anymore, blocking doesnt gain as much revenge as parrying and counter gbing do. So revenge is now a skillful tool to help you out play gank's which is what it should have always been, rather then just a ten second power up that is rewarded for just turtling that can be generated in seconds.
The gear stats options really didnt matter after the first overall nerf to damage across the game revenge builds reigned surpreme after that your build didnt matter. Any build that wasnt revenge gain is just inferior, would you rather do 5 extra damage on your heavys with a full damage build or go full revenge gain get revenge in a 1v1 like 3 times and oos throw for a max punish until your enemy is dead.
Or go full defense for maybe 4 less damage taking a heavy or get 6 extra seconds on revenge duration build you see the pattern? Nothing was better then a revenge build period it gave you a significant edge playing with it vs not no question, not haveing any revenge gain in a 1v4 was almost certainly a death sentence unless you just straight up outclassed your ganker's and even that could be challenging because what if they also had revenge builds?
To the people uninstalling the game but say they dont want to see for honor die, A games success is linked directly to it's population your hurting for honor instead of trying to help it grow and thrive over something like a natural balance change to the game that is a improvment i might add.
