I was really excited for arcade mode to come out, it is the only reason I bought marching fire, and lets be honest arcade mode should have been free. But whatever, I saw a PVE mode and felt it was worth it. Not even after one campaign I wish I hadn't bought marching fire.
Here's the thing, when you are fighting a player better than you, you can tell. It sucks to lose but you know that you tried your best and they still won. With AI, they know more than you. There is no strategy, no balance. I fought an Assassin about twenty times before I won by throwing her off a cliff. I had no other choice. The game randomly took away my guard mode UI, gave her bleed damage and allied archers, and made her parry every attack that I made. Was this ever play tested?! Challenge, that's what I want, not enemies that are just programmed as better than me. To top it all off the "final boss" of this random-gen campaign is a 1v3 against Raider (damage boost), Warden (health boost), and Orochi (attacks knock back enemies). I literally cannot win. I've been at it for about and hour now, this one fight. I'd rather face the end boss of the story mode again! And that fight made me break my chair out of anger.
tldr; Arcade mode is broken, ubi pls fix
I was hoping 'Easy Mode' in the Arcade would actually be 'Easy' - that's why I bought the expansion. I was wrong.
I am not good enough to fight other players, I even lose to L1 bots, but these enemies in the Arcade just make me look even more old-and-pants It's the same in the multiplayer Battle mode with bots - it's down to the other bots on my team if we're going to win *chuckles*
Yes, I'd love to 'get good', but my old, retired brain is having real trouble getting to grips with this combat when even the first level of bots are better than me.
I'm currently making my arthritic fingers sore in the Arena against bots who are only allowed to use a Light Attack - and I still lose.
Still love the game and the concept - just hoping to be mediocre at it someday ( Keeping my expectations realistic)
Yesterday I played alone purple and yellow difficulty and it was a challenge but playable, but of course maybe because I got good luck with the modifiers. Then I played with my brother a purple one and it was way too easy.
I think Arcade Mode is for two players so it can be more Balanced......invite another player for yellow and emerald. GL
If you play on ps4 I could give you a hand, my PSN is the same on here.Originally Posted by RD_Rabin Go to original post
For those who don’t have too many online friends.....you can go to brawl mode and play a couple of matches, if you have the luck of finding a nice player you can send him the friend invitation with customized text like “I have Arcade Mode, do you want to join me for a couple of runs?” And that should be enough.
As I mentioned, Arcade Mode seams to be a mode where Co-op is not only an option, but a right choice considering that there is a lot of random stuff involved.
Im on X1, pretty sure you're not as bad as ypoure saying. And even if you are add me, Im sure I can help.Originally Posted by RD_Rabin Go to original post
i was able to play for the first time today....jumped into a legendary quest...oh wow its hard. i agree with OP. i do better against other people...
The monk bot was absolutely infuriating....im a pretty easy going guy for those that recognize my name. nothing really gets to me. but that monk bot...good lord. i couldnt even get past the first mission.
Legendary quests are brutally ruthless. Everything else is fine. I managed to get to the 4th mission with my Orochi after a few hours before calling it a day. However, I was able to complete all legendary quests with my Shugoki but I had to rely an awful lot on the Demon's Embrace's instant kill. You really can't afford to miss a parry. Arcade mode is fun but I wish there was more to the challenge than just hero nerfs, handicaps, and enemy buffs.
Other ways Arcade Mode could be challenging are the following examples:
- Time attack - kill all enemies within the time limit. Variations could include killing all enemies before:
- the ice beneath your feet breaks.
- the trap door opens.
- Survival - kill at least 10 enemies before dying.
- Horde - fend off the endless army for at least 3 minutes.
- 1 vs 3 / 2 vs 4 Tribute mission - If the player(s) executes any enemies their respawn timer will be one minute. The player wins as soon as all tributes are secured.
- Territory - keep the enemy out of the capture zone until they are all killed or the time runs out.
You have no idea,no absolute idea how frustrating the bots are in the Legendary Quests. I literally spent an hour trying to complete the final mission. So I got put in a 1v3,me with bleed damage, the enemy with drain stamina on hit and block AND unblockable. If that wasn't unfair enough, the Knight that was supposed to help me just stood there in the spawn doing nothing and if he got into the fight he got rekt ez. I won by throwing everyone on a ledge. Ubisoft,I know we said we wanted better bots, but we didn't mean bots that could read your ****ing controls because that's just broken, frustrating and unfair. Not worth my time at all.
