    What's wrong with dodges? Why do my characters refuse to dodge?

    Hello, guys.
    I like this game, but I had the bad luck to start from Kensei and get used to dodges.
    The problem is that on other characters dodges work very bad. And the main problem - you don/t know why and what to do with it...

    All the moves you do you can clearly see in game and understand, why it was successfeul or why not.
    You may not like some warriors and their spam, but you understand where it comes from and what to do. You may not catch the timing but you understand it clearly.

    Dodges are broken. Thhere is no information why they sometimes don'work, but it is a fact - they don't.
    Just 5 minutes ago I practiced with Conq-bot (connection problems are not the reason) and got three light bashes in a row.
    I pushed left dodge 3 times, but my Gladiator did nothing! It just stood and got beated.
    The same problem I saw with Shaman.

    Could someone tell me why?
    Why warriors can GB any time and parry any time, but get paralized when it comes to doing dodge?
    Where to find the rules of stun to dodge and learn in what cases it works, and when don't work?
    I did not find it in training or move-lists. No info at all.

    actually I've been having weird issues with my dodges failing too. so many attacks that normally would dodge still hit me. I have no idea why this is happening! ill still dodge but ill get hit at times when clearly i should not.

    Attack stagger is still somewhat a mystery if I am not mistaken.

    However this is what we know already derived from experience and the terminology in official patch notes:

    Attacks stagger differently. There are light staggers, medium staggers and heavy staggers (btw there are also 2 different wallsplat types) Since there were characters like Aramusha that up until recently had medium stagger on their light attack chain it is to be assumed that there might be other characters who have that as well. Conqs infinite comes to mind as this staggers me a lot more than other usual lights of other heroes.


    Dodge is usually not as fast available after a stagger/block like parrying. Getting hit while you dodge has sth to do with the active frames of an attack. A lot of heavies for instance are pretty good to catch early dodges if the timing is right.

    Back dodges usually get hit with top heavies due to long active frame window and reach.

    Up to my knowledge there is no real info on that yet. Beforehand we knew that switching your guard on an none-assassin lead to an extended responds time making moves like shoulderbash sidelights into shoulderbash guaranteed if the opponent was switching guards to "defend" against the guaranteed double side lights. That should be gone now since dodge should have a priority over guard switching.

    You might wanna search the competitive for honor sub reddit on that, maybe there is more info.

    I think the game is broken. I am unable to dodge most of the Wulin attacks. Especially JIAN JUN AND THAT MONK F(*(*#&$(*ER TOP HEAVY. Go eat a D*(&K Ubi. . Not even mentioning how this has reverted to year one " will i get kicked this match?" The breach mode is so bugeed its unplayable. Removing characters Fluid kill WTF?! Removing all Item Perks???!!??? Why did i play my Orochi to get DOuble refined???!!!??? WTF Chargebacks are in orded.

    that is because they have quite a lot of undodgable attacks (JJ does not though)...
    As an orochi you should be familiar with the concept. Deflection of course still works.

    You will always be able to block before you are able to dodge. Unfortunately for assassins, they have a big delay on when their guard comes up. So often if you're getting lightspammed as an assassin, you can't block unless you put your guard up in the place it's supposed to get well in advance, and you cannot dodge if you cannot block.

    As far as the not being able to dodge away from JJ, the only move you should really have to dodge away from is his unblockable, which you can dodge backwards to avoid that and his entire mixup from it. Shaolin has the undodgeable attacks tho, so that's a whole other mixed bag of nuts.

    yea, seems like they did something with the block and dodge. its just not registering on time. so many times too I'm in mid dodge and still get hit. didn't happen like this before.. i really think they ****ed something up in the game honestly. sux so bad now. I'm so pissed and annoyed by this.

    There are bugs and lags in this game, but I don't remember ever seeing dodge not working.
    I think what you are experiencing is getting interrupted by your opponent, or still being in recovery from a different animation like an attack or a block.

    yea i have same issues with the dodging. I'm not sure whats different but its not working like it should. so many attacks that my dodge should have missed unlike before. I wish they would leave the game mechanics alone, thats the **** that makes me quit games.
