Opening battlecrates when you have all the items in their pools does indeed give you refunds.

I don't quite understand how it happened, but when I cratespammed "SO2" items I somehow got the R93 sniper from Predators (obviously a PvE item) from a Ghost War crate instead of a specops crate, and that meant that the final specops crate I opened---before "O&M" introduced new items of course---gave me only 2 remaining specops items and then 134 store credits.

400 store credits is, of course, the standard cost of a battlecrate, so that makes sense as a payout for a third of a battlecrate.

Now I've never tried opening a specops crate when there are literally zero items left to collect in the specops pool, but I expect the same thing will happen and you'll end up with 400 store credits (or maybe 403 store credits if the refund is 134 each time).

Thanks. I got a bit carried away the other day and purchased all the spec ops crates I could. It was like 20 crates. Now there’s nothing left... I’m now thinking of buying the Year 2 Pass but that includes 4 Spec Ops Crates. I wasn’t thinking. Should have saved some credits on crates and pick them up as part of the pass. I’m not sure what to do now. Maybe wait.

You can also always hang on to unopened crates for later. Hopefully there are many more awesome new items coming in the next two Special Operations.

The purpose of my post was to discuss IDF build only. Unfortunately, it went in wrong direction.

I've been going Russian themed myself. Kind of hard when there are no real Russian camos except on weapons, but I ended up using a combo of A-TACS AU and FG, plus some Multi-Cam, and even CADPAT. Sort of mixed and matched on myself and squaddies to give it a more non-standard/black ops type look. The Altyn Helmet from the prestige crates looks pretty beast, but like with every helmet it suffers from having excessively light camos, the olive drab looks like mint, so I have to use black instead.

But I agree that a real olive green would be nice and that plate carrier looks great too. I'd really love a gorka jacket and pants added.

Halcyon Creed. We already have a team of four FSB (Spetsnaz) Rainbow Six operators in Ghost Recon. The same (four operators) applies to British SAS, French GIGN, German POLIZEI and American SWAT. All that you have to do is unlock their Icons.

Yeah, but those are Siege characters, so to me it ruins the roleplay aspect if I'm literally changing my characters to be someone else. Also, those character models are like 10x more detailed than anything else in GRW so they look out of place to me.

I've moved on from the Russian theme (mostly). Going with the Polish Grom theme now, multi-cam, black, A-TACS AU/FG. Basically the same as Russian, but the Poles use more American style gear so it doesn't look as ragtag.
