This could work if it's well balanced vs means of aquiring orichalcum already present in the game. What I mean by this is, since with a good build / gear you can grind for example conquest battles that give the most XP, and can end up getting more orichalcum in couple hours than someone doing dailies every day and weekly once a week WITHOUT you doing the weekly / dailies at all.Originally Posted by DevilishxDave Go to original post
I feel that something more cosmetic or resources? (like 500 each resource for 100k EXP as you said or something) would be more acceptable?
I just made it to Athens and level 50 with most of the cult killed and I Completed the Arena my mercenary system is broken and I don’t get rewarded with anymore exp. Ubisoft needs to complete their game before releasing that’s what the issue is. Another company releasing an incomplete game for that money money money!
I find the game to still be addictive even with the level cap. It's not like you're unable to move at 50 or complete missions.
They can add a global leaderboard to the game for the arena (which will probably be dominated by cheaters) but if they're willing to hand out bans that would be fun for end game. Most of you played 50H and other games don't always total 50H of gameplay before you see the closing credits. So seeing that most of you are here complaining the the game is not fun anymore after 50 hours well that's your personal problem.
Thank god such a thread already exists. I have the same problem, level 50, gear complete but 60% of the map is still open for exploration. Doing quests now feels very bland as there is no reward, and the xp gain display for completed quests is even worse (basically saying: yeah you would have gotten so much xp for this, but since you're already max level... you get nothing instead). There really needs to be some sort of leveling system after max level, where xp still matters for something. The game is totally designed around this principle (large world, endlessly generated quests, etc.), I don't understand how this could have been forgotten.
For rewards, I would be ok with the system of Origins (1% increase for something). It could be warrior/assa/hunter damage, hp, armor, or something else. I understand that this would lead to OP characters, but 1) you are already pretty op with max level and any set, even on nightmare, and 2) Ubisoft could make the new mercenaries and ships that are released each week extremely strong to compensate for this, basically to the state where they can only be beaten by a character that has leveled up multiple times after max level.
Gaining orichalcum for each level up after max level would be fine as well. Just please, do something. Exploring this beautiful world and solving quests feels so bland at max level, which is a shame![]()
Is nobody here playing for the lore anymore? All the complaints are that you reached max and it's over. There's still so much story to go through and scenarios to experience.
I personally believe most of you have forgotten how to enjoy games especially if your sole purpose for playing a game is to gain levels.
power-gaming and min maxing are totally viable ways of playing a game. ie. skyrim did not punish powergaming with a strong level cap, that managed to throw all experience you gained out of the window.
some of us just like viewing the level accumulating, and since AC:OD has such a huge world that you can easily hit the cap with more than half of the game still unfinished, that is straight up bad design decision. I mean, for the love of God, i cannot remember any other RPG in the recent times, that you could hit the level cap in about 40% completion of the game taking into account main quest/areas/side-quests etc.
Noone is complaining here, because we hit the cap in 85%, 90%, 95% completion, that is normal, and ok pretty much acceptable and happens in other RPG's too. In Pillars 1 I hit the cap just before entering the final area, so it was like another 10 hours of playtime without rewards, but that is ok, normal, as I have done every nook and cranny up to there.
But hitting the cap, in 40%, 50% of the game, that is straight up bad game design and should be fixed. Plain and simple.
Also, raising the cap has no negative impact to the ones in this thread that don't want the cap raised, so I really cannot understand your interested in defending not raising the cap.
No need for boosting stats past lvl 50 via perks that offer flat % increases. Instead allow post lvl 50 to work as per normal (leveling increases dmg and health) but add in an option to spend post lvl 50 exp on resources of your choice. You don't even need a new NPC to do this, you can add it to the storage locker on your "boat".
I’m level 40 and haven’t even gone to Athens yet!! Please Ubisoft do something that gives day a little reward, maybe 1 orachalum or something. Otherwise where is a players incentive to continue. Level caps are silly, and as a big RPG fan, just doesn’t work. Keep some areas hard. Have some quests where they are high levelled? Maybe include some superbosses, and keep the enemies level scaled then I can’t see why a level cap should even figure into it.
