The armor sets, engravings, weapons and builds is something noebody is complaining about rly, you do not need more than lvl 50 for any of them though. Main problem most people have with increased cap is that it basicly does nothing except give you an imaginary progress without changing your relative power lvl at all for the price of having to grind for gear upgrades. If they added new passives, prestige lvls, more spear lvls or raising you max skill lvl than that wud be another story cuz than your character wud actualy be progresing again.Originally Posted by Olympus2018 Go to original post
The common counterargument here is but what will you do with all that excess mats if theres no more gear to upgrade, and the answer to that is simple perhaps they should add different things to spend em on, you know like in other succefull RPG games, like for example:
-player housing/estates which cud serve as hubs for new quests, home base for your lutenants which you dont have curently assigned on your ship, or perhaps give you an option to own things like mines/lumberjards, farms, iinns etc...(which after you make the initial investments and buy/repair/improve them actualy give you resources/money), limitless possebilities rly with that
-expand on the ship system, like alowing us to invest into bigger/better ship or perhaps a small fleet like one flagship+2 escort ones such a system again alows them to expand on sea content ingame so its again opening new/interesting possebilities to explore to them
Most RPGs outthere are actualy pretty light on farming, Witcher 3 which you put as an example was very light on farming in general at least gear wise(potions are another thing but most of the time you didnt rly need em at all and thats playing max dif ofcourse), pretty much any Bioware RPG was also light on farming(Dragon Age series, Mass Effect series and even the older titles), Betheda RPGs are again light on farming(Elder scrolls series, Fallout series as well-Fallout 4 can be grindy if you want it to be but that is grind for materials to use for completly optional settlement building that has nothing to do with your character progresion streinght wise), Kingdom Come: Deliverance again no serius farming required and that list goes on.....
Now it i true that it most of those game you have an option to farm excesivly but there is no real need for it in any of them and we are ofcoure talking about max difficuly playtroughs.
In general the only RPG games associated with heavy farm are online ones, basicly MMOs
Yeah I second that. Raising passive skills to have a total of 6 or even 10 levels would be necessary, not only because it provides players with meaningful ways to spend skill points, but also because it makes specialization relevant again. At level 50 I have all the skills I really want maxed up, and I am a warrior-archer-assassin hybrid that is strong across the board. With new levels of passive skills I will have to choose again what type of character do I want to become.Originally Posted by cawatrooper9 Go to original post
