    Combat Fixes

Yesterday I commented on what i felt was wrong with the games combat system. The day before highlighted some issues i had with it. Today is about combat fixes and what i feel will only fix the problems but make the game better as a whole.

First and most obvious is putting the block function back into the game. Shields for swords and spears standard block function for daggers (coupled with special spear) heavy blade and maces. Most people already asked for this so I figured i would just get it out of the way.

Second another set of purchasable perks to be bought with skill points. Offering skill points after level 50 and maybe 1 orichalcum ore if that works for you. Examples hunter damage warrior damage stealth damage. Increase by 1% from perk 1 to 25 .5% from 25 to 50 .25%from 50 to 75 and finally .1% from 75 and on a soft cap with diminishing returns. Next fire damage and poison status reduction hard capped at 25 1% per point spent. Damage and status increase of fire and poison hard cap 25 1% per point point. Movement speed in stealth hard capped 10% 1% per point. Various quality of life single purchase perks (or 3 tier) things like maybe faster merc cool down or something idk I didn't have any problems outside of combat and the game dead ending at level 50.

The level up cost per ability point should probably be the same xp needed as 49 to 50 or something it shouldn't be too easy to obtain.

Third fix is changing the color of adrenaline attacks to an easy to see yellow while leaving heavy attacks red so that we can tell the difference between them and act accordingly. This would help me significantly Idk about anyone else.

Making these changes would allow for a better game overall and a game plus (something I'd like personally because I screwed up on the prison convo with demios and have a rather crappy story ending). Maybe revisit the arena with better bosses and have random loot drops from grinding them try to do arena bosses like origins had with actual fighting mechanics Idk. I really liked the cyclopse battle and would not mind killing him over and over for an item set in a loot pool from him.

That is all I've thought of please take into consideration these changes really would make the game better.

I did for a while then I'd have some op mercs with elementals 2 and 3 hit me for a while never knew when it would happen and switched to building adrenaline just to op attack them till they die. Dying from them in the middle of doing other things really got on my nerves because i'd have to replay large portions of quests etc. They were mostly spear and heavy blade enemies with fire and poison.

I am sure most of my problems extend from bad rng on the mercs. The gods of rng do not look favorably on this mortal and rngesus does not give a damn about my prayers.

I mean, the only thing you suggest that would change the "utterly broken" combat system (to use your words), is adding a block and a shield? Really? What is so broken about combat if it only needs one tiny change and all will be good?

I thought your other thread was over the top already, really not seeing the problems with combat you mention.

The shield the added stats with diminishing returns extends the game past level 50 The color coded attacks separates the heavy from the adrenaline attacks. I'm sorry but either you didn't read it or you are dense either way i just don't have time to deal with people who exist slightly above of that of beasts in a field.

I feel they just need a more in depth stat page for character's. Showing crit chance and damage increase numbers. What the cap for increasing poison or fire damage. I'm not sure about fire but I know the poison damage scaling is garbage. I only use it for the damage reduction and don't even bother increasing it's damage because its so minimal. Like we can't see what any of our current stats are for increased weapon damage or anything like that. Would be nice to be able to push in some button to get a more in depth picture. I don't care about getting a shield or not game is fun the way it is.
