Bring over Masks to Division 2

Ubi,..Please bring over Masks earned in Division 1 as well as decals, please God. As a new Division player, speaking for all Division players, we worked hard to earn our Masks as well as Division 1 decals. I love playing GEs to earn my Masks!

As a casual new player I invested over 6 days of total time played into Division 1 and I'd love to see my Masks carry over. Make players who may be new to Division 2 go back to Division 1 to earn their cool mask(s) as well.

Dude if only you knew what all division player expect for TD2, its far beyond those masks, let me list it for you:

    - Better gearset balance
    - no classified
    - Weapon balance
    - anti cheat system that does not require player reporting
    - PVE and PVP balance
    - no breaking patches that nerf our choices
    - relevance among every weapon - no meta AR or SMG
    - reliable server with 0 lag and latency
    - balanced PVP (wait I said it already)
    - No Cronus for console
    - Better matchmaking

Which basically means for Massive *achieving the impossible*

People are pre-ordering a game knowing that its predecessor was a complete mess.

    Good luck

    If there are masks,
I hope we NEVER get panda masks, serial killer clown masks, pig heads, ect in Div2.
They were well made masks but they don't belong in the Division.
More functional looking, and less silliness/goofiness to them.

I kinda agree with you because some masks are a pain to get like Happy, yet I would be pleased with something like a mini Happy backpack trinket or patch

What I disagree with is the cosmetic slot and gear slot specific items. I would argue that in real life there are tactical face masks, like those worn by the hunters and they are in fact ballistic armor. Boots, shirts, pants, coats, etc can all have a tactical function like reducing burn injuries typical of IEDs or having built in tourniquets to stop bleeding. Elbow pads, side armor plates, shoulder pads, groin protectors, are examples of other pieces used in modern times. Not to mention the neck protector or the most glaring annoyance, the lack of a functional helmet in this game.

While i do enjoy making my character look cool I must say that for me function beats form any day of the week. I would much rather have more than 6 gear pieces over some do nothing cosmetic stuff. If they make actual armor more common sense and not the lala land it is now, I would be much happier. Adding to that, armor should actually be armor. If I shoot an armor plate with an SMG, the guy on the other end is not going down. It should stagger him, or do partial damage. Acting like it is not even there is lame to me. Why can we have increased head shot areas but not reduced damage areas where armor is being worn? Are we not well past the first generation shooters, so why must we continue to act like no advancement can be made. Look back to Golden Eye on the N64. In that game the AI reacted to being shot in the leg or the arm, and that was like 20 years ago. Are we not at the point of being able to say getting shot in the leg slows movement or an arm wound slows aiming/reloading and reduces throw distances?

Ugh, all i can think about now is Destiny 1, and how I will never understand how a super powered guardian jumped the same on the moon and on earth. The stupid traveler did not change gravity, because if that was something he could do.... I am pretty sure he could just crush everything that threatened him inside of micro-gravitational wells. I wish the Devs of games would push progress instead of sitting in their comfort zones. Mini-rant over..... for now

Me and my friend yesterday were talking about why in Destiny 2 the gravity was the same on every location and how weird that was.
I think having the environment affect gameplay in a reasonable way can make fun gameplay.

I agree with the functional looking vs gimmick looking cosmetics.
I know they're 'cosmetics' but the Division1 sets up a particular narrative and some masks were implemented that disregarded that narrative.

Trained government sleeper agents in a viral post apocalypse that killed 95% of all people on the planet, enters the DZ which is the most contaminated part of NY. There is the option to wear a high level virus mask to stay alive, but instead decides to wear a pigs head.

Yep, I am never going to be enthusiastic with their choices regarding cosmetics. I can understand them doing some form of paint or skins. Was watching the TV version of the purge the other night and the one guy is roaming around in this homemade steel hockey mask, looked similar to a hunter. Being an RPG I would be much happier if the whole thing made more sense. Am I immune or am I not.... because i am pretty sure a 5 dollar respirator from the home depot will not be of much help. In fact I would say at least the first GE masks made sense and i finally had a real no poop gas mask.

Would love to see them make it a more RPG aspect of the game. Full gas mask, immune to gas/contamination based damage, greatly reduced accuracy. Respirator, resistant to gas/contamination, normal accuracy. Armored face mask, 20% reduced head shot damage taken, greatly reduced accuracy. Face shield 7.5% reduced HSD taken, normal accuracy. They would of course need to make gas based effects much stronger for it to "balance". So, on that alone I would wager it will never happen.

That could be a kool way for players to traverse the DZ differently.
PvP players would probably go for reduced headshot damage on a mask where a farmer might go for viral resistance allowing them to traverse contaminated tunnels safer; things like that I think could be kool.

Yeah, they're pretty immersion breaking, imo.
