    Too many tacticians

First of all, I have to say that I like the Tactician set and that I have a good one myself (5 piece with relentless backpack). I know that it is a cool set and that it is fun to play with it using sticky and seekers. However, it has become the favourite build in PVE lately. It is hard to find a group for a legendary mission that doesn't include three tacticians with sticky and seekers; and hardly anyone is willing to switch set or, at least, replace one skill with a healing box or turret, if necessary. Sometimes, I would like to play Tactician myself, but this is mostly not possible - one needs to make damage or provide healing. Of course, it is theoretically possible to complete a legendary with four Tacticians without healing, but why? There are many other builds viable in PVE. For example Pred and here, we have the next problem with a group of Tacts. In a team with three Tacts, it makes no sense to play with Pred - the NPCs are constantly under the minor bleed effect of sticky and seekers and your Pred bleed does not work. Great! Please agents, when you play Tact consider your Pred team mate. Actually, not the Tact is the problem, but the players who do not adjust to their team. As long as Tact is the must-have build, Pred is not an option in PVE anymore.

Tactician is more fun to play than just another set that makes you shoot differently imo.
And it's really nice to get that massive BFB hit or just decimate a room with cluster bleed, very satisfying.

Also, the legendary enemies can be very cheesy with blindfire and grenades stagger so having an option to attack them in cover is very useful in legendary missions.

One problem I have is that I often ask if anyone is using predator at the start and/or when people join before using stuff that does bleed... rarely anyone answers then mid to late mission the griping starts from whoever is running predator

Personally if I'm doing PVE in a group with a tactician build I run a mixture of either sticky bomb and support station or turret and support station largely because I've come to rely on being self-sufficient for healing partly due to liking to work from a bit of a different position to the rest of the team (I still usually try to cover them for healing) and partly because good reclaimers or similar are less common.

Yes, that's the problem. It is a good build. Maybe to good. I like it myself and want to play it sometimes, but not all the time. We are used to PVP meta-builds, but I've not seen it in PVE so far. I have absolutely no issue with the Tactician. But I appreciate having a Reclaimer, Sentry, D3 etc in my team in a legendary mission. I just expect others to be team players and switch, if necessary instead of sticking to a build come hell or high water.

Another thing I've found more recently is that the last 1/3rd health has become a lot less reliable - back along I used to be able to skate a thin line and get away with using more firearms, etc. based builds but now not infrequently it's 1/3rd health and then suddenly down while intuitively the level of incoming damage shouldn't have resulted in that meaning I like to create builds around having a reasonable long lasting support station or run builds where I can engage more from cover with seekers, etc. - exacerbated by the change to healing where you can't just pop self heals while ADS'd any more and often it is a bit glitchy and inconsistent how quickly the heal kicks in after coming out of ADS as well so for PVE it isn't a great change.

EDIT: Infact I think that change to healing has had quite a knock on effect in reducing the range of builds people use in PVE - I've noticed a lot more people playing bomber tactician since it.

To Rroff: Yes the good old problem with the communication. I agree that good Reclaimers are not very frequent. One of my characters has such an optimized Reclaimer and when I wear it, I often notice that the players of my team, especially the experienced ones, are really grateful for the healing box and know how to use it, for example by replacing their own weak healing skill with a flashbang or other skill. However, hardly anyone wants to wear it himself. Not sure why.

Maybe I should have called the thread "Too much Bomber Tacts". I agree that the change in healing that you noticed could be the reason for the increased use of this build or it is just as Rush said "more fun to play than other builds". For me, it is fun to play with it too, but it is also fun to play, for example, Reclaimer or Sentry. in PVE

There is no other place to use skills in this game besides PvE. They have been made worthless in PvP, yet many players actually want to run that kind of build, so that is one reason.

Everyone posts threads or videos about soloing Legendary missions with Tac is another.

Also at this point in the game most PvE players I believe are not DPS focused players, while in PVP they are the only ones really left.

As for the Pred, I don't ask I just look at the knee pads, if I see a pred I will switch to something besides cluster, either turret, heal, or pulse depending on the group. A 55-55 tac scan does wonders for any DPS player by the way.

That's true. The old problem that you can use skill builds only in PVE. I like to play skill builds myself, but there is not much PVE content left for me in the game, apart from doing some of the legendaries once a week. At least, when the Shield becomes active, I have the opportunity to wear my Tact, Reclaimer or even Fire Crest in Resistance for some hours. Did not know that you can recognise a Pred by his knee pads. I wish each player was that attentive providing a powefull Tact pulse for the DPS players (the few who are left in PVE)

Sadly I must admit I can pretty much identify any piece, the knees are just the easiest gear piece to spot, the only trouble comes in with mixed/ninja builds and coats covering the chest piece. Although if they have FC, Tac, or Reclaimer knees it is a good chance they are running a skill build. and anyone else is a DPS. The only times it might be confusing for example is something like my skill build sentry who gives a good pulse and head shot buff or my Nomad Healer. Since those are not bleed builds however, it is not a big issue.
