There was a thread with a Ubi rep on here that said they were aware of the problem with Ultra wide a long time ago..
The biggest issue I have is, this game is almost like a expansion to Origins. If it worked there, no reason it shouldn't work here. The engine already supports it.
It should in now way be a resource hog to get working. Especially if it was able to be hacked in, in 15 seconds.
I know where you are coming from though. I had many issues with 4k when I ran that and it made me just as mad when a game wouldn't run right in 4k. That is even the same 16:9 ratio as HD lol.
For instance. Other day I was playing original Hellgate London in prep for re-release. 10 year old game. Works perfect in 32:9. Many many older games do.
Inexcusable to me how AAA games of today don't all support it.

The new patch (1.07) I was hoping would fix the 21.9 cutscene scale issue and btw a great patch hands down but perhaps in 1.08.

Also for some people who might have never used a Hex Edit app a quick tip......after you paste the insert to replace the original edit make sure you keep pressing CTRL + F until there are no more edits to replace in 1.07 there seemed to be 3 extra edits or maybe I need coffee anyhow hope this helps someone.

Just a heads up but, the 1.07 patch is indeed working with the hex edit. After doing it my in game cutscenes work in 32:9.

Is there a current link to hex edit that fixes this for the current patch? 21:9 Dell Ultrawide monitor here...worked amazing in Origins..

The do it yourself Hex Editor post in this thread and over at WSGF worked fine...can't believe such a simple fix wouldn't be just automatically done by Ubi at this point in the release? But yep just go through with the Hex Editor and replace the values...looks great now. Much more immersive than the jarring cutscene black bar crap.

And Ubisoft is not alone by not inserting simple things in games. Complaints about this all over the board by gamers on various publishers. Seems standard nowadays to have to do it yourself!!

So if companies still keep doing it, then there must be a reason for it. And no, I don't buy into the "becuz they're punishing their players" or becuz they're too lazy, etc.
If they're so simple and easy but not implemented, then I'd rather find out what the actual issue is.

For gamers who don't like cutscenes they should stay skippable, of course. But I hope deep storytelling and cutscenes stay in the AC franchise.
Absolutely, they give me a good laugh more often than not - I really like the humor of the Odyssey team (loved it in Syndicate already).Motion capture and voice acting is so well done in those cut scenes - I even watch those, which I have seen many times already (due to a lot of restarts from scratch).
