I also played without hud and markers and made my own "rules" to make the game more fun, but what I am saying is that most people it seemed were not able to do that or understand the reason why they should, like I said when I played with my friends and seeing the reviews of Wildlands described as "repetitive" it was simply because most people lack the understanding of how they should play it for the most fun, a lot of people dont see why do anything more hard than the easiest way possible, so they do something that is very repetitive, I meant that now people get more rewarded for doing things differently, and that's the only way some people will actually break their patterns.Originally Posted by Kean_1 Go to original post
Anyone still playing Wildlands is obviously still around because they kept exploring and playing the game differently, I am only sad that Wildlands lost a lot of players because the players were the type who could have enjoyed kept playing the game but didnt because they couldnt understand or motivate themselves into using more playstyles.
Everyone who's served in the military or is creative has tons of more ways to play a tactical shooter more fun and immerseful, but some, unfortunately a lot of people dont have the tools to do that, they dont understand the freedom or possibilities, but get bored because they basically lack the creativity and these players can be kept playing and funding wildlands/ubisoft by giving them more suggestions and guidelines on how to do things and what can be done. Poor bastards.
Glad to hear you're liking the game, Armaggon, it is fantastic when approached with the right mind set. I agree that rewards and incentives should be there based on style choices rather than just completion targets.
Much more XP and resources for no HuD, restricting load out and primary (as in Ghost Mode) and not being wounded, etc. Add in AI control and load out choice, real game effects on camo choice etc then this game can live on further.
I hope they will add more in depth squad commands for the next Ghost Recon.
I know their plan was to make it more of a co-operative experience to have with your friends. And that was my initial plan. However after seeing my friends going in guns blazing on Arcade and me trying to play stealthy on Extreme in the same game session, didn't work.
Furthermore they were sniping down my helicopter because "they didn't get to fly it"
For the next Ghost Recon they should have Ghost Mode in the base game. Something which can be unlocked after reaching Level 30.
Limited to 1 primary, and you can't access your magic back pack of 200 weapons anywhere you want.
Also some of the icons have pants tucked into their boots. Just to let you know.
I think those who were fans of the game understood it and had fun with it. .....especially those who followed the game during development and don't tend to rely on YT personalities to tell them what to think of a game. No carrots needed.Originally Posted by Armaggon-O Go to original post
I dunno..... I think a big part of GRWs problem was trying to cater to too many segments of the gaming community including casuals who enjoy a more simplistic, arcade-like experience. .....and largely ignoring those who this kind of game could have really become a hit with (the hardcore fans) in the process. That is one segment I think Ubi really underestimated and underappreciated. With all of their other titles geared toward casuals, they had a ripe opportunity to really break the current mould on console especially with the history of the GR (or TC) franchise to support that path.
Either way, we can't say that most weren't able to get this game as GRW was still a success for Ubi. I also think that there were a fair share who chose not to stick around for other reasons including a lack of those HC elements and the general direction Ubi decided to take the game instead. ......not to mention the hardcore GR fans.
Personally, these rewards do nothing for me nor my friends. We wanted meaningful additions for replayability in the form of more HC options and/or additions like a mission generator to take advantage of the vast world. .....and when we did get some of those options folks had been asking for, they locked them behind a new mode that forced you to play "permadeath". They should have made them options as well in the main game as most originally requested.
Either way, I'm glad you and your friends are finding the game fun. This was one of the most enjoyable co-op experiences I ever had with a game.
Yes, I'd enjoy rewards for not using aids and such, I think it becomes a problem when you play solo and join up with strangers, it's kind of hard to play tactical and stealthy with little aids when you're surrounded with people that dont, I'd also like to be more "invisible" in pvp, like no/lesser hud, no minimap and spotting, even silencers, I dont see why there cant be, yea there would be some more camping maybe, but that is fun to some.Originally Posted by AI BLUEFOX Go to original post
