Hi there heroes
I need help, I completed the Knights campaign, and half Vikings.
I want to play a lot better, I like to play Raider, now, I know some attacks can't be blocked, but I literally can't block any attack and I get killed within seconds in every single fight.
My guard is on the same side of the enemy guard/attack and it just does not block, I press light attack or heavy attack and it doesn't work.
I play on pc with xbox controller, and there is a delay when I move the stick or press buttons, like 2 3 seconds, witih mouse and keyboard too
Campaign is normal difficulty and it is very difficult.
Any advices would be very appreciated![]()
Just press on the PLUS sign next to reply.. then you can edit your post. If you "go advanced" after that you can even edit your title and get access to more stuff.
Could you not show us some footage of your gameplay? That delay thing sounds weird. You could try first hand to tweak your deadzones but that shouldn't be the major issue I think. Could be that raider in campain still suffers from his initial issues (he was one of the classes that switched guard stances slower than others). As far as I know they never overhauled the single player and therefore you have stock game experiences there (with Orochi for example having his former moveset instead of his reworked one). So when you play the raider in single player don't keep switching guards constantly.
btw you parry by pressing heavy (RT) whenever an attack indicator flashes white (it gets bigger for a moment too). If you mess the timing up you get hit. Light attacks don't parry. If you are mislead by the term light parry and heavy parry then that is refering to you parrying an enemy's light attack or his parry attack. The possible punish you get on your opponent guaranteed varies which is why we make that differentiation.
If you check out the training arena you can practice parrying there too with a more modified selfexplanatory indicator for beginners.
Raider and his blocking to me is truly about 50/50. That's because unlike allot of the other characters raider has to actually swap the head of his weapon in his hand to block. Even though that's what the butt cap on a axe was designed for in real life situations they would never take the time to swap hands the devs seemed to make this a focus of that character.
Oh and to save you some frustrated hours wasted on trying to get the parry just right. I would say don't try because his swing is to slow 90% of the time. I have instead relayed on the light tap move for defensive measure. Hit heavy then X and light attack it may make your life easier too.
I also started about 9 days ago but built my raider to rep level 10/14. So I might not know what is really best for you.
