I don't understand why so many people dislike the MD. The Animus is basically the foundation of the franchise. I agree that Layla and her plot is weak / uninteresting. But it is extremely important to the lore of the saga. Ubisoft should enhance the mission and action of the MD in games. To attract more fans ... Seriously, read the comics: AC 2015, Templars and Uprising. The books of the Last Descendants trilogy and Heresy. The best of MD is there. AC has a large expanded universe. If the games had 10% of these books and comics the MD would be AMAZING
Ive been playing odyssey recently and im feeling betrayed. This is not the assassin's creed we asked for. Ive been a fan of ac since its inception and i've literally had no complaints till now. I have played all games from 1 to syndicate many times. Then origins happened. I loved the game in the beginning but later couldn't give a crap about Bayek. I didn't finish that game. And now odyssey is even worse. I get that you're trying to attract rpg players more but in that process ,you're losing your hard core fans. Sure now you guys are basking in the victory of odyssey but from now on ive swore not to pick up a single AC game unless you guys go back to roots and set the game in a semi modern era in the 1600 to 1900 and bring back the realistic parkour. Sure you guys have sales now BUT MARK MY WORDS THE RPG PLAYERS WILL GO TO OTHER FRANCHISES LEAVING BEHIND AC AND YOULL LOSE YOUR CURRENT FANBASE AND THIS WILL BE THE DOWNFALL OF AC
I don't know if this has been covered already, but I keep expecting it to get fixed and it never does. I'm not even sure how this one made it past QA.
It's a map problem. Say you Mark a mercenary, or set some other distant objective, and it's 6000m away. You open the map to find out where it is and pick a suitable Fast Travel point.
But it's extremely hard to see, partly because of all the other markers but most of all because our mission point marker appears right at the edge of the map, where it can be easily obscured by all the map's GUI and legends. You end up rolling the map around while staring at the edges, looking for a telltale group of pixels to show up in the gaps between letters and indicate where your marker is.
The strange thing is that the marker, when it indicates a place that is still off-screen, appears with an additional arrow to tell you, "It's not actually here, but it's in this direction: keep scrolling." So it would be better if marked objects appeared an inch or two in from the map's edge to make sure there's never an overlap with UI elements.
First and foremost - Thank you for creating this game. It has caused me to stop playing all my other games for 4 months. I have 300+ hours on this game and completed Greece, Elysium, and Underworld.. I have played the other versions of assassins creed. Odessey has the best gameplay system. Being able to manage all the quests, stories, weapons, ships, side items, abilities, maps, and continuations is brilliant. The world graphics, locations, characters, music, ships, and stories are fantastic. It is so entertaining to feel like you are in that time period.
User Background: I believe this important to understand my requests.
A little background on me, I am 60 and been playing video games since pong. I am an avid COD, Battlefield, and RPG gamer. However, my reflexes are slower with age. So my ability to quickly respond in melee battles has been frustrating in games where it is required to get past a level. The difficulty level seems to adjust the hit points you can take and give. This only makes the fights shorter or longer. The ability to play with arrows at longer distances, having specialty arrows and better health reviving skills, allowed me to complete almost all the difficult levels on normal mode. I had to level adjust to easy for a few battles. I adjust to hard to through most of the day to day items.
Suggestions:
I was excited to see more information about the history. However, it isn't enough. We should be able to turn it on. It should do a fly around, similar to finding a synchronize location, with a voice explanation of the wonders of ancient Greece. This is probably one of those items which were lost to budget. This would have been incredible. How about an add--on or allow users to create it - similar to create a story mode. They could be reviewed, published and if selected added to the game. The selected person could receive store credit! Win-Win.
Please allow for reflex adjustment in the preferences. i.e. Melee Reflex (Maniac, Standard, Slow). It would slow the attacker's movements, just a small amount, during fight scenes. This would allow some of us to enjoy warrior mode. I realize there are abilities to allow it but they only last a short time. You could even go faster, Maniac, for some of those who like a tougher fight and they could get more rewards for the kill.
It would be nice to allow for more strategic fighting during fights. When you increase the difficulty, it only seems to adjust the damage from hits taken and delivered. It would be nice to increase the number of attackers, increase the number of guards at the forts or camps, allow them to fight by flanking you, or surrounding you, allow their archers to be protected by soldiers with shields, or mount horses to attack you. Make it strategically difficult. If they are being hit by arrows, allow them to mount horses to find me. This would easily allow them to see someone in low brush.
When someone is firing arrows while crouched and hidden in the brush, it should do less damage. Standing up to fire arrows in brush should be easily discovered.
A shield would be nice and offer more options during fight scenes. especially when multiple arrows are firing on you. I understand the impact to animation coding, however, this would be a nice add-on for the future.
The game is gorgeous and highly addictive. I was born by the Mediterranean Sea and know all it's shores very well from Cadiz to Odessa. I am greatly impressed by the accuracy of landscape and environment. From all myths from ancient Greece I miss one especially: Pandora's Box, the Box of Winds; something related to an unstoppable force, if open, with extreme power. It could be an amazing quest of a full Episode.
But you should have posted in the French forums, mate.Originally Posted by xX_Redge_Xx Go to original post![]()
This is a 9 out of 10! It's massive and neat. Once you learn mechanics, how things work, how to escape Mercenaries for instance. how to get around, it becomes funner. I purchased the Experience and Drachma boost. I read that makes a big difference. This is the best since Skyrim and Witcher 3. It should have come out before Origins and they should have let Origins simmer and become a better game (Origins is good though -- just some horrible quests and elements in it).
Cons: The leveling up of everyone else even on 'light' is not fun...everyone else levels up while you are busting your rear end leveling up...it's way too out of whack! Finding quest locations is not always good. Mercenaries are ridiculously a pain (I guess to make it challenging and exciting) and they level up way too fast too. Many things are so good and Ubisoft cane build more into this game and make MODDING available to developers. If that happened, it would top Skyrim. But, the leveling up out of whack rate in this game wrecks a lot of the fun as you work so hard to level up.
