I noticed that sometimes when i am in game and i decide to quit the game, after i press the "Quit to title screen" from the main menu, the game crashes on my ps4. Then i get a message from my ps4 to report the crash with a video clip and i always accept to send the report. But it still happens often enough.

I had no issues whatsoever in the past two months that I've been playing the game. However when I downloaded an update of about 400mb 2 days ago, the game would crash at startup. It starts fine until the 'Press a Key' screen and then it checks for additional content where it freezes and crashes... I've already started a support case, hope it will be fixed soon...

In the meanwhile I will try running it without Uplay to see if it works.

EDIT: my issues are fixed! It seems the update of two days ago went wrong. A simple Verification of my Files resolved the issue. It downloaded a whopping 5GB as repair action! I remember now that before the update commenced my disk was full, so I freed some space. But apparently the update was not completely downloaded and caused the issue of not starting up properly no more. Hope others are helped with this.

Game is crashing after start. I tried everything (all kind of driver updates, compatibility mode, make a clean restart, windows update, etc.). The game ran perfectly (mid to high settings 60 FPS) about a year ago. The support couldn´t help me. Any other game runs fine on my rig. Why should I even buy another Ubisoft Game, if I can´t be sure that I am able to play it a year later? It is a joke Ubisoft.

    Hey,

Just to doublecheck, can you make sure you have all overlays disabled if possible? Such as the Xbox/GameBar?

    Yo,

Can you try some basic PS4 troubleshooting first to see if they resolve the issue:

Hey guys, I want to report back after I solved my problem with the game not even starting (thanks to the tech-support).

In my case Avira Antivirus was the root of all evil. After deleting it the game runs fine with no issues. I think I will give Windows Defender a try.

So if you are having the same problem like me (game doesn’t start and gives instand crashreport after splashscreen) and you have Avira running, give it a try.

Wish you all the best of luck.

    Hi N3B584

So basically should basically just uninstall all my antivirus? Or just Avira specifically? Cause I have tried EVERYTHING to get this game to run again...

No Anti Virus is not recommended. If you have Win10 you also have Windows Defender. So if you uninstall for example Avira your Win Defender automaticaly gets in place. I don‘t know if Avira is causing YOUR problem, but for me it was.

Happy to see that your issue has been resolved. Regarding disabling anti-virus. You may be able to make Uplay PC, and the .exe for that game run as exceptions

Yeah, giving exceptions could also be a possibility. But the interface was for me a pain in the ***. So I decided to fix it the hard way.
