Hello there! Thank you for contacting Ubisoft Live Chat Support. My name is ****** and I'll be here to assist you. Please give me a few moments while I read your ticket, I’ll be with you as soon as possible. How are you doing today?

    Im fine, thanks

Good to hear. I understand you are experiencing crashes when trying to launch AC: Odyssey. This is likely due to your CPU. Intel Xeon processors aren't really designed be be used on gaming machines and are more suited to workstation or server applications. It's likely that your CPU does not support one or more of the features needed for the game to run.

as far as i know it doesnt have avx. but the old xeons are great for modern games because they have 6 cores and can be overclocked very well. In ac origins the game run very good on this cpu, even better as on some core i5 prosessors

The number of cores and clock speeds mean nothing if the games you're trying to run require certain features from the CPU, like in your case, avx.

Steep and the Crew 2 also needed avx and later on a patch came that cpus that doesnt have avx could play it as well. And other cpus like the i7 920 that is pretty similar to my xeon also doesnt have avx and cant play Odyssey at the moment

There are no plans that I'm aware of to remove the requirement of avx from Assassin's Creed Odyssey

really? Cause a lot of peole are complaining that they cant play Odyssey cause they have like me and older cpu that doesnt have avx but is still good in modern games. And for me it wouldnt make sense to change my cpu cause i had to change my motherboard and ram as well just to play Odyssey cause all the other Games that come out this year like Fallout 76 and battlefield 5 dont need avx

Sadly at the moment AC: Odyssey does require avx and as I mentioned I'm not aware of any plans to remove this. Had this been the intentions of the game team they would have likely launched the game without this requiremnt.

ok, do you think it will be patched like in the crew 2 or steep some days or weeks after the launch or should i get a refund?

I've honestly got no information about this, it's not something that has been mentioned so I wouldn't count on it.
