Is this true, that even if you purchase something for, let’s say, $1 you no longer see ads?

I’ve purchased “The Riders Club, Road Captain”, and I am seeing ads.

I wasn’t seeing ads until, roughly, October 2017. Then after an update they started, and haven’t stopped since.

Can you please comment. Many thanks.
