Finally feels like Far Cry... patch 1.11

it took 6 months ... b thank you for the latest patch. It finally made this game feel like a Far Cry game... the fluidity in the controls, the ability to run, jump quick aim ... keeping this momentum in the movement is finally back (on a controller). The shooting is also now quick and precise. Not the mess it was for 6 months where 50% of the shots were not registering at all. now its a great game! Please devs make it work from day 1 in the next game

The patch notes for 1.11 don't even mention changes to any of those elements & I never felt those things were off pre-patch. Glad the game is working right for you now if that was the case, but I never even had those issues with running, jumping or aiming with this game. Mechanically the game had been solid for me since launch, it's been design decisions I've found bothersome, sadly none of the patches addressed any of them...

I'm glad it worked for you day 1.. maybe it was a platform specific issue. I remember primal had the same problem just a bit of stiffness that prevented to chain together all sorts of actions. I played the game completely back in april and again last week but I played it at a much slower pace that I can now.

I'm on xbox one and did not experience issues with basic movement & navigation in either FC5 or primal...

That's unfortunate, first I've heard of it. Must not have been a wide-spread issue or it'd be a more commonly known complaint.

I'm on PS4 myself since day 1 and never had the issues mentioned.

    Especially 'Ability to run'. Really...?

I didn't say the ability to run was broken but there were small things that would break the flow... like a bad aim lock, a jump not working a run that would stop as you start turning slightly.. the motions are chained together better. I guess you would notice it more depending on your play style. Now I can pretty much parkour through the game while I take down enemies for instance hand brake reverse in front of an enemy car and shoot the driver. stuff like this.

Wanted to say it long time ago - I don't like how I run in the game! Slow........Sometimes like a nightmare when you want to run from a danger and can't. I hope everyone experienced such a horrific night dream. I feel very clumsy. In real life I run much faster. May be it was done deliberately in the game - as we carry four types of weapons?! But in this case it should be so - the less weapons we carry the more agile we are, the faster we should run. If you carry only revolver, for example, you should have maximum speed. Or you should have maximum speed when you run without weapons at all....and only use your fists and legs for a fight. I want to be more agile in the game (but without insane parkour). Slide on the ground is good but not enough. It should be developed further! I want not only to slip under the objects but slip and stay under the objects (shelters) in lying position......to fire from cover. To slip under the beds, under the trucks....it will add dynamism to the game! I want to crawl and shoot rolling on the ground (make it harder for enemies to shoot me down). To be agile using rambo style while liberating outpost would be very good for the game! Adrenaline! Just like Doom! Those monsters running and jumping at you from all sides.....and you should think fast what position to choose and what weapon better to use against a certain enemy! Like a little mathematical puzzle. So in Far Cry! All those enemies, different types, are running and shooting at you from all sides.....sometimes they are close, in the corridor or closed space - you use shotgun, then they are farther - you use assault rifle, very far - sniper rifle, coming in group - grenade launcher.....and so on....you are running, sliding under the objects, rolling on the ground, always changing position, always fast.....Enemies are coming and coming.....Adrenaline!!! Orgasm!!! That's how the game should be! Something like "open world Doom" but - energetic and dynamic, breathtaking! Game - cry for help! Game - Nerve!
