When you focus on PVE and feel good to rely fully on your skills, Tactician is a very good set. As mentioned above, the 6-piece is not easy to handle. Therefore, I recommend a 5-piece with golden backpack with the talent Relentless. But it needs to be rolled on electronics (about 9K) - your firearms and stamina are correspondigly low. Therefore, it is not very versatile, imo. Nevertheless, most players love their Tact for legendaries etc.. Other versatile sets for PVE are Nomad (not cheap, imo, but it goes too far to discuss this here), Sentry and Final Measure. Striker, D3, Pred are good choices as well, but more specialised. I agree that Alpha Bridge is versatile , but not a good choice for legendaries, imo. But this is probably a matter of taste.

As long as you are not looking for weapon DPS: Tactician. Using an MDR, and a blended skill build, which no one will advocate, but can be really fun to play, then Firecrest or Sentry. I played fircrest in a 4, 4, 8 and sentry in a 5,4,5. I did those with blended non classy and Classy builds. I personally got the most mileage from the Firecrest, because I wasn't as reliant on headshots, which I don't do well. I used predatory on my weapon. That gave me the ability to run turret + sticky:gas.

I currently run Barret's + 5 piece tac. I get my healing from running predatory on my free weapon talent on my Secondary.
