OK, I'm running four agents right now. The first to I'm strong on. Ant that would be (All Classified) Striker and Nomad. So, for the other two. Predator. Not too sure that's doing me any good at all, and then Alpha whis is good for matching weapons and the revolving activation of one’s special skill. I run a lot in the DZ but never looking for a fight. So, with the top two that I indicated, what would be your suggestions for the other two?
Thank You.
I only have one agent with my most used loadouts. 5 piece alpha with savage gloves pvp dps build. 5 piece banshee with savage gloves pvp dps build for fighting rogues only. 6 piece final measue with 70% edr for fighting large groups of pred users and giving my team buffs from grenades. Tac pulse build, 5 tac with specialized backpack, used soley to survive and provide a pulse to my team. 9k stamina pred with huge crit hit numbers, the use of this is situational, it depends on my team having a disrupter and a good pulse that allows me to constantly do large bleed damage, i also consider the pred counters used by the players im fighting before selecting pred. As you can see i have a build for lots of situations. I would say add some builds that can vary your play style and handle different pvp or pve scenarios and situations. I also have pve tac sticky bomb build used with bleed seekers or flame turret, i rarely use this in pvp.
Question for anyone reading this right now:Originally Posted by Garyfairbrass Go to original post
What would you say are the most VERSATILE gear sets in The Division?
Nomad but has weak DPS, Striker but got nerfed needlessly in PVE, and Pred which is pretty decent in PVE/PVP (9k stamina)Originally Posted by UbiSc0ttie Go to original post
I see Tactician being at the top.Originally Posted by UbiSc0ttie Go to original post
What is meant by "versatile" ? and what for (PvP / PvE / PvE legendary ?)
As the meta ruined the versatility with requirements on FA / STA / ELEC, I don't really get the point of this question.
As Merphee said : any skillbuild are versatile because you can do strong support, not bad burst damage and some crowd control (even if the GS has buffs for turret or station, you still have 1 slot available)
For PvE legendary a Sentry can be "versatile" because the set provides strong debuff and don't require much, so you're free to make it fairly balanced (7kFA/6kSTA) or even a skill build.
Alpha Bridge could have been "versatile" if it wasn't overall that bad past solo challenging missions : Kill skills with low initial DPS, "balanced" stats without additionnal buffs, no bonus for teammates, no signature skill, all these make it a bad 6x gear set
Furthermore there are no mechanics to quickly change a skill / performance mods while playing as you have to be not in combat to switch loadouts or do it manually from you inventory.
Take a Reclaimer for example : if I want to switch from first aid to flashbang (willbur) or pulse turret (napalm waves) I probably won't have any performance mods for them.
If youre gonna use PM in a pvp mode its best used as part of a team. Behind a tank. As PM has no survivability other than the player's own situational awareness. If it gets focused by more than one player its as good as dead unless you are well versed in breaking LoS. As for your other slot - I personally run a fairly balanced HEXO build that can stand up against most of the other builds alot of the time but no where as good as a classified striker or nomad.
If you mean by "versatile", a build that is not specialized on either FA, Stamina or Electronics, then, Sentry is a versatile build for legendaries for the reasons mentioned above. Nomad is also versatile you can roll it on stamina or firearms and can even achieve a decent electronics value, if you want. Builds such as Predator and Striker need 9K stamina to get the 6-piece bonus, Reclaimer and Tact need 9K electronics . The 6-piece bonus of Nomad, Sentry or Final Measure, for example, doesn't have such conditions. Regarding "versatile use", that means for PVE and PVP, I recommend Nomad as well, furthermore Pred. D3, Reclaimer and Final Measure can be used in PVP and PVE too, but it depends on your team. These builds are good additions to a PVE/PVP team to support the damage dealers by protecting or healing them or defusing grenades. If were you, I would try to get together a full classy Nomad set asap. Striker is viable for both modes too, but a bit weak in PVP since the nerf. (it was not nerfed for PVE as a player stated above). Good luck

Thanks for the suggestions!
Whenever I play RPGs, it's a habit of mine to try to plan ahead. I overthink and I try to map out a blue print for what my character's skills will be, what specific skills I want to specialize in, etc etc.
So while I'm grinding to LV 30, my goal is to have my player as "versatile" as possible. That way, when I figure out my particular "play style", I can make minor adjustments to my build without being too overwhelmed.
Realistically, I see myself more so on PVE.
(maybe a little PVP action if I find good agents to play with).
I'm no good solo. I work better with a team.

2nd most versatile I would say has to go to Alpha Bridge since it basically unlocks every talent in the game automatically and the 6p can be pretty crazy in PvE. Frankly though, I wish you guys would take the 6p and make that into a new set by itself, and change Alpha Bridge to instead share all talents between both weapons like it originally did and not just the free talent for using the whole set - it plays better into the theme and because of the talent requirements being waved, would give us much more freedom in choosing what stats to optimize.
And sadly that's about it. The other sets are either too niche or simply not strong enough (you completely went overboard with the Striker nerfs seriously) and while some might argue for Nomad, it feels more cheap than diverse... it really ought to be changed to scale off of Stamina.
