This is the second time that I have gotten an email saying somebody logged into my account from another country. Whenever I try to activate 2 step verification, after five minutes of waiting for Ubisoft to a email to me, I finally get one and click on the link. I then log in and it says the link has expired. In other words it wont let me activate 2 step verification. Thanks Ubisoft.
Hey Waffle_King14! Sorry to hear your account is being compromised. If you're experiencing issues with setting up 2 factor authentication, these steps may help.
I keep getting login notifications from all over the world. Nigeria, Brazil, Argentina to name a few.
The email has my old email address showing and not the current shortened gmail version which indicates to me these emails aren’t legit.
I also logged in seperately without attempting to click any links contained. This let me setup 2-step Verification quite simply.
Since doing this, I still get these emails quite frequently, 4 in the last 2 days. Yet when I try to log in on a different computer it asks for my verification code. This all suggests to me that this set of emails is a sophisticated phishing attempt or quite worryingly, my Ubisoft account is being used remotely without having to use my verification codes.
Any official word from Ubisoft on this?
