Thisnis why perma-death modes are stupid.
They know everyone is just going to exploit the system, so why even bother?
In my opinion, Ghost Mode should just remove the entire Skill Tree and give the player access to the minimal amount of equipment from the start (no recoil buffs, no ammo capacity upgrades, etc.), add health bars from Ghost War, and utilize the new realism mods (one primary, realistic reloading) to actually give the game a nee degree of challenge as opposed to a mere inconvenience of having to reload your cloud save when you die because you fell through the map.
That would have made more sense to me than making PD a backbone for this new mode. ......but I still think these features should have been an option in the main game so folks would have had a choice in how they want to tailor their gameplay experience.Originally Posted by RedCeII Go to original post

It’s how I play it. Ghost mode ‘lite’ if you like. I’ll have to repaet a bit if I die but not back to the beginning. It’s an individual playing experience that in no way effects anyone else. I like to think of Ghost Mode as the arcade version of GRW. When I was a kid you couldn't save your game when you went to the arcade, and often you would get really far and then die because of some BS or a glitch but it was fun trying and seeing how far you got even if the circumstance of how you lost was totally unfair. I understand the time investment is different here but that is the attitude I approach Ghost Mode with. I already beat it and unlocked everything I want from it so now I just treat it like a really huge and fun version of a classic arcade game. Keep the character you want to preserve for campaign and just enjoy the fun of trying in GM.
I do agree that things from GM should be able to port over to campaign. I still have the 2 weapons glitch in my current GM and it's annoying because that challenge was part of the appeal..
I'd go with that @R.B.Haze except that you have to spend a long time rebuilding your character in terms of skill and weapon collection.
If GM took all that out and was simply a campaign run through with a fully kitted out character, I'd give it more time. Collecting all the weapons, skills, bonus medals etc is a chore.
