you damn right, thanks for the correction, my apologize to Joe_GoulartOriginally Posted by TreFacTor Go to original post
I just lost a Level 17 save last night due to this games amazingly bad physics and PC controls.
Looking out over a cliffs edge right, overlooking a Unidad compound, and a Comms convoy thing came up behind me up the hill about 250m.
I stood up and backed away from the edge by about 4 feet, and panned my camera around to see what direction the convoy was heading to see if it was even worth it since I was on foot.
It's headed towards me, sweet deal. Start turning Nomad's dumb *** around, click in L3 for sprint to double time up the hill.
Nope.
Nomad decides to sprint in the direction of the Unidad camp. Straight off the edge of the cliff. So I hit the ground and immediately into DBNO state. I facepalm and go "wtf....seriously? And wait for my AI teammates to come pick me up.
What do they do? Apparently they all decide to stay up the hill, buddy f***ing each other all while saying over comms "be right there" "dont worry I've got you".
Baro? Done. DJ Perico? Done. 2 other provinces nearly done, final boss missions ready to go.
I'm all for a serious challenge. I wouldn't mind a more harsh death penalty than the regular game had. But permadeath and my xbox immediately deleting the save because you guys at Ubisoft didn't bother to fix the plethora of bugs and glitches before hand? I've lost almost a dozen characters to falling trough the map. Getting hit by helicopters. Getting killed by random civilian cars.
This is almost as bad as The Peoples Elbow you get from legendary enemies in Division.
Bro seriously you needed to do your homework on how to back $hit up prior to ghost mode.
I feel for you I really do as my platform is [xbox].
I died 3 times falling through the map in ghost mode & the forth was a legit death.
I’ve completed ghost mode now & that was prior to finishing the campaign mode.
There’s a few posts around on how to back up to some extent & I even basically explained it to someone a few days ago granted on a different platform.
Search it or hit myself up in voice IGN: DrUNkenjAGs but yea, don’t give up!

Prior advancing to Ghost Mode I finished Normal Mode in Tier 1 three times (filling all slots). Then I advanced to Ghost Mode (I got golden exoskeleton) and I am going Tier 1 for the second time (second slot of Ghost Mode) and, as I said, I still think that there's no need to use a save game in Ghost Mode.
Of course, there are few little things that make your life easier in Ghost Mode:
1) Drone all - recon all before any move. Then kill the ones that are not seen by the enemy, keep doing so till all are dead or the path to the objective is clear. Sometimes is much better to avoid unnecessary kills than to be detected and have to engage the enemy.
2) Use SR-25 Jungle - It kills ALL with 1 shot. It is better than any HTI, MSR or any other weapon in the game. With Jungle you have no problems with Unidad choppers, patrols or in difficult situations where you eventually is hunted or engaged. Attention: Jungle is not suppressed, so you have to keep 150m distant from the enemies so they are not able to hear your shot! (For close range, use a suppressed pistol)
3) Select your missions carefully when entering Tier mode, do the ones that give you more Tier points to level up faster. (In this sense, do the missions that have low risk of death. Lots of players like to "risk" doing missions with high level of probability to die. don't do it!).
4) Be patient. "Run and Gun" is cool in other games, but it isn't in Ghost Mode. This game is called "Ghost Recon" for some reason. Not seen, not heard. Recon, kill and leave. Be a "Ghost".
5) "Plan the work, work the Plan". Sometimes is much better to find an alternative route to avoid unnecessary combat than to go straight forward to objective and fight your way through (sometimes leading you to defeat and death). Also, plan escape routes in case of things go sour.
6) Medic Drone is a "must have" (solo or co-op). It ensures that you will have back-up in case of going down.
7) If dead, take a deep breath and start it all over again. Remembering what went wrong and why you fail that specific point (so you dont repeat it)..NEVER give it up!
Basically these things made my Ghost Mode experience pretty linear and easy as if it was a Normal Mode game.
My objective now is to complete all 3 slots of "Ghost mode" and I working on that (Tier 29 now of second slot)!
The tips are really helpful and for that you should be commended, but the original post is about dying from a glitch. Aside from that not everyone is good enough or has the patience to play the way higher difficulties demand, so whilst the tips are good, telling everyone how great you are isn’t all that helpful! Backing up the save every so often i# a nice compromise. You still have to repeat some stuff but at least you don’t lose everything. Especially if you end up dead through no fault of your own. (Admittedly when I died it was because jumped of a ledge and fumbled the parachute button).Originally Posted by Joe_Goulart Go to original post

I started playing week ago campaign mode with friend on extreme.
And when he's not around Ghost Mode on advanced didn't die single time yet( n didn't encounter any bugs)
Maybe try to be careful next time.
i would say that using backup saves is a bit of a cheat. the idea is you die, and you die. thats the entire point. though in this instance the death was a glitch, which kind sucks.
it would be nice if the extra options were added to the main mode like lone wolf was. the downside to xbox here is tht no, its not easy to back up saves. not legit through the system itself. its entirely by design. the entire process is automatic and inaccessible by design to avoid tampering or cheating.
it would be nice to use usb's for saves but as it stands, the system doesnt allow it.
.....and the problem with that is?Originally Posted by XenresEU Go to original post
We're not talking PvP cheats here. The backup is a work-around to glitch / silly-mechanic deaths. It is also (in my case) a work-around for those of us who have zero interest in a permadeath mode but still want to play with the other long requested features we have asked for since release. .....features most had asked for as options in the main game which Ubi unfortunately locked behind this new mode.
Either way, this has an absolute, zero effect on anyone but the player performing the save so I really don't see why some would even be concerned about it. .....and yeah, they can keep the exo suit silliness as I have no interest in that either.
