Mm, that's a fair point, I guess before there's usually been overlap in weapon availability in packs and crates. But the ACE, M93, and Model 1887 don't have a pack yet (if ever).Originally Posted by Ghost416 Go to original post
We've seen things that start as pack items only---like Predator---get moved to crates---and obviously once upon a time before crates there were just packs whose items were then put in crates when crates were introduced---but I can't think of an example of the reverse.
Then again there was that one poster here who really, really, really wanted the Model 1887 without having to cratespam to get it. And other similar posts. So, who knows, maybe issues like that are factoring into Ubi's new store options.
I wouldn't be surprised if battlecrate sales have fallen recently given how often we are hearing from people who want specific things from them but are unwilling to wade through dozens of social items to get truly desirable items, especially legendaries like weapons.
I'm sure there are many people who would be happy to pay 1500 credits for specific guns but would not be willing to buy 3-4 battlecrates when the chance of getting desirables is so low. That's cash in hand for Ubi rather than counting on people to cratespam. Some of us like collecting and don't mind doing that. But I doubt we're the majority of the playerbase.
This is for sure a good news for People that want to have specific Weapons and new Players.
On the other Hand it's a bit of a Slap into the Face of those who bought expensive Crap Packs to get the Weapon they desired.
Anyways, for me personally this will not change anything. I've heard that "Sorry Guys, but now everything will be better" all too often over the last 18 Months.
Yeah, I'm skeptical as well. ((((Originally Posted by KingSpawn1979 Go to original post
See, my only problem with the packs, is the prices should be reduced, if you already own items from the pack, by buying it separately, or awarded on a loot box. There are several packs that are still available for sale at full price, even though the only item I don't own from the pack, is the patch. So if someone decides to buy the LVOA-C separately for the 1500 credits, and then down the road, they should not have to pay the full price for the relentless pack if they want to get the clothing.
I agree wholeheartedly, but I don't think it's realistic to expect Ubi to accommodate these needs.Originally Posted by Megalodon26 Go to original post
I had a similar issue in that I bought a Year Two Pass after already unlocking (with prestige credits) some of the content included in it---namely two of the year two PvP classes---and I asked Ubi to have that 16,000 prestige restored to me, and what they told me was this:
"We cannot roll back in game transactions, nor can we help players preparing how to plan the best purchases in game or in the store, as the offers we make and the content included in those offers are made according to what makes sense for that specific game in that specific moment."
I'm a "valued" Y2P customer, and this wasn't a matter of state currency or even store credits, this was about mere prestige, and they were still unwilling to restore what I lost. This suggests to me that they are unlikely to alter pack prices or issue any sort of refunds to reflect previous acquisitions of items within packs.
It should be noted that I was made aware by Insulin and Alien before I bought the Y2P that I was extremely unlikely to have this prestige restored, so I went in expecting this outcome, and I believe the Y2P was a worthwhile purchase anyway, so it's not my intent to complain about it. I just thought my experience with a similar situation might be germane to your own concerns.
UbiInsulin I have a complaint about the size of the patches. 18gb on Uplay vs 3gb on Steam.
You are basically punishing Uplay users. You are giving them a reason to switch to Steam.
I understand it's cumulative, they contain ALL patches in one. But every patch I'm downloading ALL patches over and over again for nothing. I'm already up to date. I don't need ALL patches.
The developers can make it a lot more simple.
If client is at 1.7, download patch 1.8 (small size);
Else If client is at 1.0, download cumulative patch 1.8 (large size),
Really basic first grade programming.
With the last patch I didn't play Ghost Recon for 3 days because of the size of the patch.
If their standard gun is 1500GRC, I really don't see a reason to not grab the 2500GRC for two guns and two cosmetics. Especially when we have to spend on their prepaid currency voucher first.
The problem isn't with how it's packed separately or not. The price itself is just too blatantly crazy.
When I saw that Unidad and SB vehicle packs cost 1600 each for 3 vehicles that pretty much already in the freaking game since the beginning, that's like a huge slap that made me embarrassed to support them.
