The ability to bring up the Area Selector while holding the Multi-Select button.

Example:

• holding the Multi-Select button works normally
• while holding the Multi-Select button, pressing another button will
  toggle the area selector

This should also work while selecting targets for events, object arrays, operators, data sources, etc.
