It recently received console ports on PS4 and XBONE. It is an older game, yes, but the console release should definitely bring a lot of players in.Originally Posted by D-from-Oxford Go to original post
It certainly does have mixed reviews, and there are some good and bad things about it. Here's what I am picking up on it:
Good:
-Lower TTK compared to GW
-The actual game mechanics themselves look somewhat smooth and enjoyable.
-No Crossplay - so you won't be going up against elite PC players that have a huge advantage with Keyboard and Mouse.
-Will feature Co-Op missions, another PvE "horde" mode, and a variety of PvP modes, inspired by mostly CoD and Battlefied
-Can shoot through leaves.
Bad:
-It's going to play more like CoD it seems, but that was on PC, consoles may look a little different.
-Aim Assist will be available on console
-From what I read, gathering in-game currency isn't the most player-friendly.
-Guns are given based on a rental system. Not an uncommon F2P shooter practice.
-Gunplay appears to be similar to Battlefield or CoD.
-Maps look too tight. It looks like you're forced into a lot of CQB. Just not enough open space.
-Sniping is straight out of CoD.
Either way, it's free, so there's nothing to lose by me trying it.
Ghost War should honestly follow suit, but new players will get pooped on, frustrated, and uninstall.
I tried it out last night and it actually looks way better than the videos I saw - maybe they were PC on mid-low settings (or it's YT's dumb recoding).Originally Posted by Mr Wet Poopz Go to original post
On PS4 it's like average PS3 GFX, which is fine by me - I've always gravitated more towards these types of shooters (MAG/DUST 514/Blacklight) than CoD and the like.
It's kind of like my stance on GW - what's the point of such a beautiful game if the hgh level of detail hinders other (more important) areas of actual gameplay?! Like I really care about a flapping scarf, or swaying trousers in a PvP damnit. I would have happily taken a downgrade in GFX for GW if it meant that the engine could handle more. I'd take a HD update of an old GR or SOCOM over GW with it's fancy graphics and weak core.
Anyway, back to Warface, I will be spending some time on it since it has trophies and isn't horrible. It does seem a little P2W compared to other F2P games I've invested my time in, since the only permanent items you can get via the non-premium currency are basic - all the rare and legendary permanent gear seems to be cash-only. There should at least be a few special non-premium permament options in all categories (all hail Hardsuit Labs!) .Makeup only temporarily covers up ugliness, Ubi. It's now the morning after and GW's makeup is on the pillow, leaving us with the cold reality of what we've gotten into bed with.
Looking through the menus on Warface has reminded me how little there actually is to GW....
Limited options, limited modes, limited customization, zero clan (task force) functionality, poor market. All GW has going for it is that it's a military TPS. That's a sad summary right there.
LOL, me too. Can't resist a bargain.Originally Posted by fastastoast Go to original post
It might not seem on topic at first glance which is why I thought it best suited here, but please let me know if you all feel it belongs back in the GW.Originally Posted by Ghost54335 Go to original post
I am happy to move it back![]()
