Also keep in mind that it's not just performance mods to look at, but the right talents can make your tac set even deadlier.
Shrapnel, which offers a 30% chance to spread your bleed to enemies in 10m of the original target. Indispensible.
If you run Sticky and Seekers, you HAVE to run Demolition Expert. Kill a hostile with an explosion to increase explosion damage by 20% for 15 seconds. Combined with a 30 stack of Tact, and the proc for Talented, you drop seekers, let them hit the wave of enemies first, then sticky the big guy(s), and you can do some incredible damage. I've one shot 2 heavies with one Sticky Bomb before.
Chain Reaction is another talent to equip. Damage multiple enemies with an explosion to apply 20% more damage from the blast. You can see how this would apply beautifully to seekers (not individual targets, but when you catch groups together and the seekers hit their intended target and catch others in the collateral) and Sticky bomb. Sticky bomb radius mods work hand in hand with Chain Reaction, especially if you can sneak in and sticky a whole group of guys together before **** hits the fan.
When running the turret, there really is only one to two skills/talents to go to. Tech support, which extends the duration of your active skill by 10% every time an enemy is killed while the skill is active. This works best with either a high damage turret, or a high health mid damage turret, so you and the turret can burn a target down together. The other good turret talent would be Police Up. 10% chance to refill all ammo when an enemy is killed by your skill object.
Wish there were other talents for use with the turret. Like turret specific ones. Or even different turret mods. Like turret fire rate. Or turret range.
Shotgunners and medics on legendary, check. I also use it on heavy backpacks for instant poof or on the ground just behind them to strip all the armor and most of the health off too. Unless I'm mistaken though, the only thing that procs Talented is either shooting an NPC to death or Sticky them dead? The extra 20% skill power adds some extra punch and higher bleeds when you roll the seekers, correct? If I'm right, given a target of opportunity, I'll always try to sticky any NPC before rolling the seekers. Tell me if I'm wrong though, because there is risk doing it my way.Originally Posted by jdkzombie Go to original post
After paying attention to the floating status affects, no it doesn't. The Talented "brain" status doesn't show up unless you shoot them. Well, question asked and answered.Originally Posted by rosch15 Go to original post
Talented procs with your turret, but only if the weapon you have equipped has Talented unlocked.
I'm not sure if I am among the few who still uses my gun with my Tac set, but I mostly roll Turret and Seekers, I switch turret out for sticky's depending on where I am in a mission.
I usually target the same dude my turret is targeting, so I proc Talented quite often. Especially so during this recent Ambush event where my guns actually shot bullets instead of marshmallows.
You need to remember that skills get whatever talents you have active on your weapon when they actually hit an enemy, they don't proc on activation. And some work better than others, and not all skills get your talents. Could you imagine the fun we could have if your turret procced Intense? Chance to set dudes on fire as well as pulsed them? Or if the turret would proc Harmful off your handgun?
I never paid attention to this until reading it here, and I just tested it, and sure enough: Talented does proc from the turret. None of my other weapon talents do, however.Originally Posted by jdkzombie Go to original post
I wonder how this determination is made?
Trial and error? I know that Predatory does proc when I kill using sticky and seekers. That tiger head is unmistakable and so is the health. I was initially confused about Talented because I had the 3 floating status procs, ends up that Competent, and 2 of my talents were procing. So now we know that Turret procs Talented. It wasn't until rosch15 posted that I actually just shot a guy dead and realized then and only then did Talented proc and the picture was unmistakable. Now, as long as it doesn't put me at severe risk, I'll shoot a guy dead before poofing.Originally Posted by Sock_Monkey Go to original post
I just solo'ed Russian. I know, it's just challenge, but I had to be careful and it was fun. I'm going to have to see what I can do with Legendary Amherst.
Considering the seemingly eclectic behaviour or procs, I wonder how much of this is by design or are they undocumented features?
Amherst is a very difficult solo legendary (yes they are all difficult) in fact I found madision whilst longer easier. Breaking it down its the distance (short) to take down the runners, the flamers from off the street who respawn (use the ledge on the left) and the spawns from behind in the 2nd section. It's one step forward two back approach anyway good luck.
Your last sentence is what I meant by "I wonder how this is determined," not how the OP figured it out.Originally Posted by Kalimwulf Go to original post
Seems weird (eclectic) how some talents proc on a skill, and some only proc on the weapon kill, which amkes me wonder the same: did someone sit in a meeting room to make these determinations, or is it an "Ooops!" that some proc and others do not. (?)
