This is Ghost Recon am I right?!?
Why are our "icons" from Rainbow 6? And PS, anyone who knows Ghost Recon or Rainbow 6 for that matter, knows that these "icons" are actually making zero sense.
For Wildlands, the "Icons" should be called "Specialists" and yeah, their names are listed below in case you need some help from a random dude on the internet Ubisoft. Not dudes dressed in full black riot gear in the jungle and tundras of Boliva. Come on MEN!!!
Wouldn't it be DOPE as hell if these "icons" or "specialists" had their own kit too like they each did 17 year ago?!?! COME ON MAN!!!!
This missed opportunities here are out of hand.

Just having that name, Dieter Weber and have him set up like a killer german sniper would be siiiiick. way cooler than "Snatch" or some other dumb Siege toon name.
Icons originally are made for Ghost War PvP. Through feedback, they later become usable in PvE.
So as you can see through the initial intention with the Icons, it is most likely they are using Ghost War as smaller volume, tactical R6S on the side. Perhaps they wanted to make R6S to be somewhat tactical before it becomes a slightly serious Call of Duty and that dream is unfulfilled.
And let's face it, you can pretty much dress up as other Ghost Recon operators with the existing clothes, whereas R6S operators are much more unique in fashion.
