So, I played with a cronus user the other day.

I joined my friend in the DZ the other day and he was playing with some guys he met in the UG. I asked what they were doing and they told me they had just killed some rogues after dying to them a bunch because they had ridiculous aim. So the one guy said he put on his cronus to deal with them. I asked him how good it was, not actually ever talking to a user before. He said that the last patch did ruin it a lot, but it was still good. he then pulled out a big Al and said this is without and proceeded to empty his mag at a truck from across the street. In about 2 seconds he had reached the max muzzel climb. Then he turned it on and made a soccer ball size grouping with the whole mag without touching the stick. I just sighed because it is all too obvious how much of a joke so called "git guds" truly are.

Towards the end of our adventure we ran into 4 suspiciously named players.... who all had the same character model. The white female with the dirty blonde ponytail, and the same outfit. Well after they about downed me from a block away and seeing the few misses just wizzing past my soccer ball sized melon, I thought to myself PVP is just sad, why do publishers refuse to acknowledge the situation. If they found some measure of control in the last patch, they must know how to stop it or detect it.

All I can hope for now is them to make an announcement that mods and cheats will be banned automatically in the Division 2. I really hate other players ruining otherwise fun PVP. I understand the desire to not block impaired players who might need a secondary device, but allowing auto functions and controls that are near impossible with normal tools should never be allowed. There is just no justifiable reason why it is still allowed to continue.

Yep, playing with someone who has one will open your eyes to the severity of it. People think to themselves, ahh, its just a little of this or a little of that but all of those little things make a huge difference. I have a buddy with one, its one of the guys ive played with since the beginning and the only reason he got it was to see what he was getting his butt kicked with, he goes from an average/good player to a murderous fool once he turns it on. Its a total cancer that needs to be handled.

Being old, arthritis in both hands, and issues where my hands don’t always do what my brain tells them to do, I’ve thought about Cronus. But, so far, no I haven’t. That said, watching the streamers shooting whole clips with M4s and no muzzle rise, and firing a House and hitting most every shot from over a block away has me thinking, if I ever get serious about PvP, I’ll have to have it. It’s like meta builds and weapons, get them or die to them. For now, I just hit the DZ monthly’s and weekly’s, and the usual being killed if I stay in too long. As far as D2, no pre order, wait and see if this is addressed. If not, I won’t waste my time.

Here is the thing that really gets me though. If you play most PC games the developers intentionally reduce recoil for M/K because "it feels more natural" but they bump it on console.... so not only do we normally have the highest recoil but we also use a less accurate tool, the double whammy is silly.

I know there are other tools besides cronus max, like the XIM4 and even walmart sells something but i forget the name. I am also not against giving gamers tools that let them play the game the way they like, but when you allow the inputs to play the game for you that is just unfair. If you need to use those devices that is one thing. I would just think that they should not allow it in situations that contain other player interactions.

I know a guy who plays Destiny 2 on Xbox through his PC.... I can't help but wonder what kind of tampering that could lead to....

When the game first came out, you could essentially hack everything in the game (from gun talents; to rate of fire; to recoil and more) and there was no anticheat mechanism at all. It's gotten a lot better, but it's still terribly out of control (especially in the DZ). In fact - just the other day I got cut down in the blink of an eye by someone coming out of a checkpoint. There's no way they could have known I was there, much less target me that quick and kill me.

I wish I could say that they were actively trying to fix this, but all we've gotten since hacking became a major issue - is a bunch of lip service; no solid fixes; a few ban waves and a huge amount of pushback requiring us to do their job (IE - provide them with irrefutable proof that a player is cheating; who the hell goes around recording all their game play just so they can report hackers? Since when did it become OUR job to do so?)

To be honest - I don't expect any sort of response (let alone action) to fix this mess, since they're not busy with Division 2 development.

Oh I know the pain. Today i saw one of the guys on my friends list in the DZ. He is a good player and we can wreck in skirmish with our group. By that I mean we go 20 and 5 or less most matches. I think we have lost 2 matches in the past 40 or so. Point is I watch his clips, and he watches mine. After enough time watching good players you can see the way they move and aim. To be perfectly honest most of the time it is jerky as all can be. the sudden swing of a stick or the slight up/down while trying to move side to side. Most obvious the struggle to control recoil moving you off target, over compensating or not enough and shooting sky. Anyway, he was playing with a name i recognize as i have reported him numerous times before (surprise surprise). I watched his clips again, and it is day and night. he has no jerking while moving, no jerking while aiming, no recoil while firing any weapon, and is the master of side to side movement while keeping the screen perfectly still. Cronus is bad enough on console but pairing it with a M/K and trash talking the DZ like you are actually legit is just beyond me. I really hope they figure this out and do something about it because if not, no matter how much they change the sequels mechanics, the PVP will be too infested with this kind of player. Which will just make the DZ fail all over again. It should just be an outright perma ban, no warnings. You know and I know that once the sequel hits, every streamer and scrub will be loading up the new div2 script and ruining the game.

If they don't produce some method of anti cheat to deal with the situation, could we at least get an immune proof disorient skill the flips a weapons recoil pattern. that way if you are using the counter recoil your aim just plunges into the dirt for 20 seconds. Good luck with that cronus, try not to shoot your feet off.

The only reason it has got better is because cheaters are not playing the game anymore. They have no anti-cheat system.

Yeah - I figured as much. Last time I heard anything about their "anti-cheat" system was that "things are being looked at very carefully" and that was it.

I took a long break from the game (a year or maybe two? I lost track) and just recently came back. Right off - I had the game glitch and I lost awesome potential talent rolls on a House, (they won't/can't restore it) and then the other day I had that guy who came out of the DZ checkpoint as I was going in (literally smashed me into the ground impossibly fast - no way it could have been done legit). That's why I pretty much stick to PVE with people I know.

I do believe there will be something for TD2. It was stated that only a complete rewrite of the game would work and the developers stated that they started working on TD2 two weeks after launch. We will see if it is anything like some of the more current games that have anti-cheat systems in place. I don't know If it will be as good as BF or COD's which detected mouse and keyboard and chronos or whatever it is called.
