    Firecrest bonus

Since I pretty much have every Classified gear set I am interested in, with only Fire Crest, Lonestar, Final Measure and Sentry remaining, I thought FC might be the one I'd focus on next - especially handy since it's part of the upcoming GE.

Does anyone who uses FC also use the Urban MDR, and if so, does the bonus against burning targets stack on top of the Distracted base talent with the MDR? I already favor my MDR in a lot of PvP scenarios, because the base damage is so absurdly high and if I can get any status on the player (tear gas grenades work best) I get that +18% boost and will decimate most anyone...assuming I land all my shots of course.

Anyway, if the FC bonus stacks, than a 33% bonus on my MDR, plus the total 40% flame turret damage sounds pretty major, and could be a lot of fun.

The Distracted talent will only proc once regardless of how many status effects a target has on it.

So if you flashbang a target you will get the 18% damage boost. If the turret then sets it on fire in addition to the flashbang you'll still only get + 18% damage from distracted.

The weapon damage does stack (additive I assume) with the 4 piece bonus which is an additional + 15% weapon damage when the target is on fire.

But there's another important thing to note here - the "distracted" talent can also apply a damage increase to the turret itself, as one particularly astute Reddit user found out.
If the target is under a status effect when the flame turret targets them, the flame turret will do an additional + 18% damage to them. However this does NOT apply if the flame turret targets an enemy not currently under a status effect, and then sets them on fire. Under those conditions, the flame turret damage does not increase.

So the way to make the most of it is to use flashbang or gas seeker or grenade to apply status effect to a target and then drop the turret on them. Awkward but a true min/max strat

Interesting. I guess I was thinking a little simpler: since FC adds (I think) 4 incendiary grenades I would use that or the turret just to get the On Fire status effect, which would be +18% from Distracted and +15% from the 4-pc FC bonus. That in and of itself is pretty major when my MDR has a base damage of 550k - 600k, depending on the particulars of my build.

I had no idea about the bonus to the flame turret, but it's definitely something to keep in mind (albeit a very situational arrangement).

The MDR weapon talent "Distracted" is Multiplicative, and so is the Firecrest set bonus for damage to targets on fire.

It's also important to understand what firearms scaling is and how that effects your damage. Oddly enough the MDR has a really high firearms scaling. Translation; low firearms builds are a poor way to run the MDR. Funny enough low Firearms (Electronics stacked) is not the best way to run Firecrest even though the 6 PC makes it look that way. At least with the MDR. I run 7.5k Firearms 4k Stam 4.7k Elec for my Firecrest build. Competent / Determined on the MDR and Dragons breath turret, and Flashbang sticky for skills. It's a great way to play FC. Really wish the 6pc FC bonus gave flash sticky a fire effect instead of the explosion. It would be awesome.

See this for info. Google Division firearms scaling for the spreadsheet if you want to calculate the scaling for individual weapons.

    Read this: https://www.reddit.com/r/thedivision...about_the_mdr/

This guy did some testing and Distracted doesn't work if your Flame turret is the cause of the burning.

Dang, I didn't realize they made it so complicated.

Well the Reddit post you linked was about using Distracted to procc skill damage, primarily the turret. Distracted only applies to skill damage when it is the blind status being used. While using the MDR for weapon damage Distracted works for all status effects. So burn or blind then burst down with MDR. Firecrest is just best played as a DPS set with CC to procc the MDR. Tac will out DPS any FC Skill build with easy.

I think you're right. I read that wrong. He's talking about Distracted increasing the damage of the turret and not the flame increasing the damage of the MDR.

Though I agree that Tac will out DPS any FC build and is also more versatile. There's nothing more fun than using FC in a enclosed area and lighting up an entire herd of NPCs.

Thanks. As I mentioned I pretty much have every build I really wanted, including a fully-optimized Classified Tac that rocks solo PvE, but I figured either set some goal or I'll get bored of the game quick. I was torn between LS and FC, but FC looks to be more fun (FIRE! FIRE!) and was included in this GE, so why not?

Lonestar is one of the funnest builds to play also. Especially if you spec it into DPS and are supported by a Reclaimer. It's definitely not better than half of the other builds but if you want some variety and to bring some enjoyment back to the game, I'd set one up with 2x Big Alejandros.
