Best fire fights I've ever experienced

For the first time last night I managed to coop play with two friends of mine and I have to say it was one of the best experiences of coop I have ever had.

We were on route to the Lincoln tunnel mission. We are all at the same rank level, yet each person had a different ability to make sure we were efficient with equipment and what not.

We came across the first contact which was a small group of guys holding out in an alley shielding weapons parts. They were dealt with swiftly. We scouted over the rooftop and noticed an abundance of gang members milling around the next street over. We decided to leave them even though we had height advantage, but wanted to conserve ammo.

As we rounded the next street we decided to hit them anyway, just for the battle. This was the start of the fun. We worked so well as unit we hit them hard, and moved in sync with each other. They hit back just as hard, even getting to H2H at one point.

When we eventually won the fight, we headed to Lincoln tunnel and again the fire fights we so intense it left every one filled with adrenaline knowing that it wasn't a slaughter on us. We fired, we moved, we covered, suppressed and hit hard. The more we hit hard the more they hit back. Trying to out flank us, but we held tight and kicked the gangs back into touch.

One our way back to base of Ops, we ambushed another gang where we had our second contact, my god, that was just as intense as the first time we hit this place, even to a point of having to fall back to larger cover.

Each one of us fully agreed last night that playing the division COOP is a much better experience than solo play and even beats the fights we've had on Wildlands.

I gotta say, I hope division 2 raises the bar on the first one, but even that is high imho, being at a low rank and having intense fights like that I can't wait to see the higher levels.

If anyone is interested in joining us I've posted a thread in LFG for PMC ghosts. Get in touch and join the fight.

The PvE is the best part of the division. That is why we have always wanted more for it but never really got it.

Glad to see you had fun in the game. It's something that doesn't get posted enough of.

I remember when me and a friend first started playing the Division.
Each encounter felt awesome in the missions especially with him.

Seeing and fighting the heavy Cleaner boss in Broadway Emporium was one of the most fun times I had because back then you couldn't kill named enemies in less than 2 seconds, and he was threatening. HE called me in for help because he couldn't beat the boss by himself and we both tried a lot before beating the mission.

After U1.4 he left and rarely comes back on

I was in the UG with a friend. We did a 3 phase Challenge. I just started using a new 4 PC Classified skill build. He plays a deadeye set. I wasn't used to be that squishy. and I kept having to crawl on my hands and knees to get rezzed. It was embarrassing.

We ran into Hunters. I dive into a safe corner. My friend is just in front of me. One hunter comes and hits him. Down he goes. I T. He's up. The Hunter kills him again. I finish killing the Hunter, rezz my friend off his knees. The next Hunter comes along. He runs thru our fire. He's got a skin of health left, down goes my friend. Sounds like he got hit by an ax and he's dead dead. I sticky the Hunter, boom he's dead. We've got 1 hunter left. I crawl out of my safe hole. My friend says he's keeping an eye out... No idea how long that actually takes, but I'm telling you it felt like forever to get him on his feet. The thoughts going thru my head are very not PC. He's up. We finish the last hunter off.

This games PvE is awesome, especially in coop.

Thanks for the replies guys. It's good to see the agreeance on PVE over PVP, certainly when coop is concerned.

Be great to have a six man squad instead of a being restricted to a four man. Imagine the fights then. With each human player an increase of 2-3 to 1 on Ai. Omg, would be so cool.

If the comment is true about PvE over PvP in one of the posts, surely Unisoft can recognise that there is so much potential for this game to be one of the best coop games out there. It would be amazing to see a good amount of focus is put into future developments, ie: TD2.

I've not really followed dev plans on it yet, but please ubisoft don't neglect the coop play in campaign mode.

PVP is "ok" in my opinion but it is quickly exploitative for people to be absolute turds and ruin the enjoyment of it. Hence I don't PvP anymore.

I'd like to see the PvE in Div2 have more 'Division' in it.
What I mean is that some of the content in Div1 feels like it's a real part of the Division's world, were some other content feels like an addition placed in the Division's world for one reason or another.

Survival is a perfect example of content that feels like it belongs in the Division's world (It reeks 'Division'), where as Resistance doesn't.
It's a great gamemode, well made and one of my favorite pieces of content, but doesn't give off that particular 'Division' vibe, it just exists in the game world and doesn't feel apart of it; It's an additional gamemode rather than an expansion to the Division.

I guess it's that I'd like to see content that has been believably shaped by the Division's world and history. Survival, UG, the addition of Hunters in the UG, the early game, the original DZ, rope cutting, and the contamination events are examples of having that Division smell.
Skirmish, Laststand, Resistance and WSP, Global events feel like they weren't integrated properly In the Division. Great gamemodes but doesn't have that Division smell imo.

I'm not good at explain myself I know :\
Hope the jist of what I mean is clear.

I dont think it is related to firefights, more your opinion on what you felt was wrongly placed.

Unless, your point is more about the PvE experience lacking some quality, which is definitely not what I experience when playing coop.

Tonight, we've done some missions on clearing Chelsea and on some occasions our coordinated attacks felt like the ai were not even there.

Two guys rummaging through a body, we snuck up, called set with each other and sliced them apart before they had time to stand up. That's still with low level weaponry.

Other occasions it was a case of laying the fire down and pepper potting our way forward with a continuous base of fire on them. On one occasion doing this one elite didn't even have chance to fire back, he wasn't even suppressed.

Team work in the game is great when your team listens to one another and communication is clear to all.

Love it. This is what I aim for in coop play and have done for years. Please ubisoft don't mess with the coop play to make it detrimental to itself.

This is one of the best games I've played in years and I'm sure many will agree coop is a vital part to the success of the game.

I'm not bothered about bugs, to me that's rivet counting, I prefer to play and enjoy and thats what I get out of coop with the division.

While I do enjoy the PvE aspects like you have described, after time they just get old. I am not here to harp on the glory of PvP, but to me and my friends working in a group and having firefights with other players is fun.

I am not talking about getting killed by hackers or glitchers, I am talking about the rare moments when 2 groups engage in "as intended PvP". Players scramble for cover, throw grenades and attempt to push. Fire turrets get dropped to hold off the rush and the attacking team falls back. Then you counter attack and route the other team, but fail to see one of them run down the street and now try to snipe you.

I love the give and take of skilled (game mechanic abuse free) Player vs Player. You just do not get the same rush from fighting scripted AI. Even Legendary AI have easily exploited short comings, and once you know how to fight them it is hard to just ignore it and pretend like they are not just auto aiming bullet sponges.

Some of the PvP is indeed lame dance offs, but i have also had genuinely the best moments in the game doing PvP. Those clips where you just took out a 1v4 because they got cocky. Or when you and your buddy both time your snipes to drop a player instantly. Gaming at its best.

I'm pretty certain I would get the same from PvP, but it's never always like that unfortunately. Like you said it's a rare moment. I'm unwilling to go DZ to fight that in that rare moment because of the endless turdlurkers that exploit the game for their own gain. Just ruins it for me tbh.

I can see what you mean when you say it gets old. But fighting like this at lv6-7 being intense, means it'll only get better the more we level up as a group.

I even said tonight, can't wait til the ai get harder. Because we are working better and better, the challenge of harder ai makes me chomp at the bit.

I've had this game for a while now and still it doesn't get old. It's got so much playability to it.

I do think fighting in a built up environment is a scary thing, real or digital. Just wish there were ai sneaking around inside the apartments making for some real Cqb action. Imagine that?
